Youth Ministry Closet Clean-Up Sunday!

Can you stop by and help after worship?

THIS SUNDAY (8/30) - After worship, come over to Fellowship Hall to help clean up and organize the children, youth, and family ministry closets in Fellowship Hall in preparation for the coming year. We Need Open Play Volunteers

Open Play is a community program where SHLC opens the Fellowship Hall doors every Wednesday 9:30-11:30am for playtime for babies, toddlers, young children AND their care givers. We provide coffee for the volunteers/caregivers and snacks for the littles. This program is popular and we need more volunteers to help out a Wednesday here and there. If you’re able to help at all, email us at the church office today at worship@shlc.org. We will see you WEDNESDAY!!!

SKYLINE STUDENT PARKING AT SHLC

We are currently out of parking passes and NOT accepting any applications but have an interest list you can come in and add your name and phone number to or email us at worship@shlc.org and we can place you on the interest list. We use our interest list to fill spots that become available when Skyline High School does their lotteries. Parking is NOT available until/unless the student has received a physical parking pass that has been picked up from the church office PRIOR to parking on site. Metro spaces are not open for Skyline Students and risk being towed with no warnings per signs on property. Contact Aleta at the church office at worship@shlc.org about parking. This information is for non-active SHLC members.

Join the ELCC and Confrence Friends for a Rededication

This rededication will be at Luther's Lounge at Mt Si Lutheran following the floods this past December. Our gathering is set for Saturday, August 29th from 1-3pm. We'll enjoy pulled pork and pizza from our pizza oven as well as give thanks to all of our partners who made this rebuild possible. That's all of you! Each congregation in our conference helped in its own way. You shared your people and their gifts, you shared your financial resources, and you shared your prayers and encouragement with us. We would love the chance to say, Thank you! A brief program will take place at 2pm. We hope you can join us in this celebration and rededication of the space. Thank you!

SHLC COLLECTION FOR PORCHLIGHT!

SHLC is helping our local ELCC Outreach Team who is collecting items to create 15 Welcome Home Baskets for the men of Porchlight in Bellevue who are moving into independent living spaces. SHLC is collecting the below items to be included in these baskets through SEPTEMBER 11^TH. Leave any donated items at the Welcome Desk on Sunday or in the Fellowship Hall by the KidVantage collection box. Thank you!!

Confirmation Orientation All confirmation students, new and returning, and parents/guardians are invited to attend an important meeting on Sunday, September 13^th from 5:30-7:00pm at Sammamish Hills. Community Game Night Community Game Night returns! Join in the fun and games on Sunday, October 19^th, from 5pm-7pm at Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church. All ages are welcome to this event. Synod Youth Fall Retreat Middle and High School youth are invited to join in the 4^rd annual Synod Youth Fall Retreat at Black Diamond Camp, Nov. 6^th-8^th. This year we are excited to announce that we are partnering with the Southwest Washington Synod! The theme for 2026 is “Faith: the Final Frontier,” with Proverbs 3:5 being our theme verse! Mission Trips with SHLC

An SHLC Fall Fest is coming to Alveare Winery, September 20th at 6pm

We welcome all member(s), family and friends of all ages to join Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church for an evening of fun at our Fall Fest!! We will gather Sunday, September 20^th at 6:00pm at Alveare Winery in Carnation. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased after church on Sundays in the Narthex or now in the church office, Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-1pm. We will be arranging carpools to the vineyard from the church so email worship@shlc.org if you are interested.

Come for Clink! in September Thank you to everyone who was able to host and/or join a Sunday summer evening! We look forward to more great summer gatherings next year but for now it is back to joining Pr. Dave and Pr. Nyla again in September for two monthly adult CLINK! gatherings both starting at 6:30pm. Our next Clink! gatherings are September 6^th at Post Doc Brewery in Sammamish and then again September, 17^th at Big Block Brewery in Redmond. We hope you can join us!

Men's Gathering at SHLC 7:00am Join Pr. Dave and others Monday morning in the Fellowship Hall from 7:00-8:00am. We will gather for coffee, connection, sharing, and to consider how we best live out our faith. This is not a Bible Study; it’s a place to talk about faithful living and the challenges/joys that come along the way – and then we pray together as we start our week.

Men's Faith Talk 7:00am Join us each Thursday morning at McDonalds in Redmond Ridge located at 23545 NE Novelty Hill Rd, Redmond, WA 98053 from 7:00-8:00am. This is an intentional Bible study. We gather to hear the word, discuss the text, consider how it applies to our lives, and then pray together. We are taking a small break and will meet again on 9/17.

XYZ IS BACK September 27^th, JOIN THE FUN!!! XYZ started off with a great this year! We are planning to meet again, once a month, and will gather again on Sunday, September 27^th. The next time we meet we will talk about Summer travel and the places we’ve been, places we want to go too, and places we will never go back too! It's easy to volunteer with Eastside Friends of Seniors! Choose the volunteer activity that is best suited for you, and volunteer when it is convenient for you. (Volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of 2-5 hours of service monthly, for at least 6 months. All volunteers must be 16+ and drivers 21+.) Church Phone App to Use and View SHLC

We have a new app, Download the Tithely Church App (the blue tile that looks like the icon to the left) from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android). Once you've downloaded the app, select your church and you’re on your way. You’ll get access to an e-Bible, prayer platform, online giving, push notifications, and church event schedules. We are heading back soon! After three months of summer fun, the halls of Sammamish Hills Lutheran Preschool are soon to be busy again with the happy chatter and laughter of children. We are getting ready to welcome back returning families and meet new families. Teachers will be busy the first week of September getting their classrooms ready, and preschool will officially begin on September 10^th.

Join us in welcoming two wonderful additions to our teaching staff:

· Sheliah Escarda — Sheliah has decades of preschool experience and will be joining our Maples pre-K class.

· Kellie Tolton – Kellie was a Sprouts teacher and is joining our Maples pre-K team after a year off working to focus on family

SHLP would not be the amazing place it is without the constant support, prayers, and generosity of the SHLC congregation. Your encouragement is what allows us to build a warm, safe space where children can grow and thrive. With your continued blessing, we're looking forward to making this a truly memorable year.

Stewardship Giving Table!!! LET YOUR CREATIVITY FLOW THIS FALL

We love looking for gifts for the upcoming Fall and holiday season! Please consider bringing something that you have made with your own hands to share. It could be art, baked goods, carvings, candles, soap….or a gift of time to someone. Place it on our table, designated for our Stewardship gifts. This allows others to share our gifts with friends and family for the holidays.

Did you know members can also create a delicious food item (main dish, dessert, side dish, treat etc.) for folks to prayerfully donate? Our members can obtain their food item with a donation earmarked to the Stewardship Giving Table. If you are willing to participate in this act of stewardship, contact the church office at worship@shlc.org today! If you are willing to obtain the food donation, go to the Narthex Giving Table to see what is available, then contact the donator of selected item(s) to make specific arrangements.
