We are excited to share that we will be hosting our first in-person event of the year! You are able to attend in-person or online. In this event, we have special guest Dr. Elisa Niles who will give an introduction to what trauma is, signs to watch for, how human trafficking and trauma go hand in hand, and what counselors and community members can do to help. Childcare will be provided for ages 10 and under. There will also be five (5) raffle baskets available for you to bid on. You can read more about each basket and purchase rattle tickets below. Proceeds of these raffles will go toward further education and advocacy efforts by Restoring Oaks. The event is free to attend. Social distancing will be implemented as best as possible, and we ask that you watch online if you or any members of your family are not feeling well. Please reserve your spot by clicking below. Dr. Elisa Niles is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. She is also a Board Certified Counselor and a qualified supervisor for mental health interns and marriage and family therapist interns. Elisa is a 2016 recipient of the National Board of Certified Counselor-Minority Fellowship Program. She completed her education at the University of the Virgin Islands 2002, 2005 and Argosy University in 2009. She completed her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Walden University. Her dissertation examined the Impact of Trauma on Reoccurring Homelessness in the U. S. Virgin Islands.
Elisa served as the membership chair of Chi Sigma Iota-Omega Zeta Chapter, community lay director for the Suncoast Emmaus Community, member-at-large for the Florida Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Florida Mental Health Counselors Association, Chair of the Continuing Education Committee for the Florida Association for Play Therapy, and Co-Chair for the Florida Counseling Association Convention Committee. She has presented at local, state, and national conferences. She now a published contributing author in the textbook: Fazio-Griffith, L. J., & Marino, R. (Eds.). (2021). Elisa is the Clinical Director for Southwest Florida Counseling Center in Port Charlotte, Florida. Elisa was born in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, but has also lived in Jamaica and Antigua. She enjoys singing, dancing, traveling, going to the beach, and trying new foods.

Raffle Items Available at this Event

All proceeds of this raffle will go towards continuing education and advocacy to raise awareness on preventing human trafficking and restoring those who have been trafficked. Raffle baskets are composed of donations from individuals and businesses in our community. You may purchase raffle tickets prior to or at the event. Cash and card will be accepted at the event. Raffle tickets are one (1) for $10, five (5) for $30, ten (10) for $50 or twenty-five (25) for $100. You do not need to be present to win. If you live within 30 miles of Port Charlotte, your raffle basket will be delivered to you. If you live more than 30 miles from Port Charlotte, your raffle basket will be shipped to you at your expense. Restoring Oaks is a 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.
