Mark your calendar for our 2023 Annual Fall Conference: The Future of Energy! This year, the CPES Fall Conference will kick off the 2023 Connecticut Energy Expo, which takes place October 19-21 at the Connecticut Convention Center. Join us for insights on the ways in which the energy industry is a driver for growth and development in Connecticut as well as the broader region.


Conference Overview:

The 2023 Fall Conference will feature welcoming remarks from Luke Bronin, Mayor of Hartford, in addition to three panels, two keynotes, and plenty of networking opportunities! The morning keynote will be presented by Alexandra Daum, DECD Commissioner, and the lunch keynote will be delivered by Paul Lavoie, Connecticut’s Chief Manufacturing Officer. The three panel discussions will explore innovation, state and federal incentives, and business leadership.

Panel I: Innovation


Panel I will highlight the groundbreaking technologies and solutions discovered through efforts to combat climate change. This discussion will feature panelists representing both established companies and start-ups, who will detail the challenges and successes encountered throughout their quest to achieve climate goals. Panelists will also share ways the state and region can support their test-beds of tomorrow, with guidance from panel moderator Robert Klee, Professor at Yale School of the Environment.

Panel II: State and Federal Incentives


Panel II will reveal strategies for companies and municipalities interested in securing federal and/or state funding for energy investments. Moderated by Bryan Garcia of the Connecticut Green Bank, this discussion will feature state and local officials who will speak to current programs that incentivize energy investments, as well as the sustainability goals they're working towards. Connecticut business owners and local leaders alike will benefit from the practical approaches and "must know" facts for obtaining funding shared during this discussion.

Moderated by Radenka Maric, President at the University of Connecticut, this discussion will feature executives who will explore what it means to be a business leader and share the leadership approaches they've found to yield success. Whether you work for a small company or large organization, are an elected official or employee at a non-profit, takeaways from this discussion will promote momentum as we drive the state and region forward together.
