FMCSA Warns of Two Scams
The FMCSA has sent alerts to be aware of two scams:
1. FMCSA has been notified of a phishing scam targeting training providers. The email is coming from alan.leon.student @ scs-school-cedargrovenj.org tells the recipient the message is the "final awareness for information verification" and says "we will have to revoke your license if we do not receive your verification/update" within 24 hours. FMCSA will never send email requests seeking personal or payment information. Do not respond to or click links in any suspicious emails. Training providers should follow your company or agency policy if you receive a phishing scam email.
2. The FMCSA is warning drivers about a recent phishing scam impersonating official FMCSA correspondence. The email is being sent to entities registered with the FMCSA by someone impersonating the FMCSA through fake emails that appear to be official FMCSA email addresses at first glance. The emails are being sent from safety@fmcsa.gov or filing@fmcsa.gov, which are not legitimate FMCSA email addresses and are not affiliated with the FMCSA. Read more...

When the Bus Fairy attacks, you’ll fair better if you have a plan. If you’re on familiar turf, things usually work out fine. You, or your driver, know who to call. One of the things that makes the charter business “challenging” is that often you're not in friendly territory.
Your plan should include training drivers. Who in your company should they call? How do you want them to handle passengers? When is it appropriate to leave the coach, as opposed to staying on board?
