A Message from Dr. Hilton
Dear Bradfield Families,
One School, One Book is in full swing! I hope everyone is enjoying Beverly Cleary’s, The Mouse and the Motorcycle. I have such fond memories reading this fun and adventurous tale as a child. Thank you to Kendra Allen, Amanda Pickering and the Baldwin family for organizing this event and for encouraging our families to engage in this shared literacy experience.
| | | In celebration of Bradfield’s upcoming centennial year, our Broncos traveled back to the roaring 1920’s as they dressed up like students from the past and learned the Charleston dance. It was absolutely precious!! | | I also want to thank our incredible 1st grade moms for treating the staff to a delicious Mediterranean luncheon last Wednesday. A special thanks to Mari Foteh, Islam Shalabi, Rocky Binswanger, Sarah Gainer, Sara Wilkins, Caitlin Hernandez, Claire Bussard, Kelly Diehl & Jane Anne Meggs for taking the time out of your day to create such a special luncheon for everyone. We all felt loved and appreciated. | | |
Finally, I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend, and I will see you on the front steps tomorrow morning.
Kindly,
Dr. Aimee Hilton

Texas law now requires school districts to distribute information to parents and guardians about the safe storage of firearms. The attached information will help you learn about options for, as well as how to talk to your child and others about, the safe storage of firearms.
It is unlawful to store, transport, or abandon an unsecured firearm in a place where children are likely to be and can obtain access to the firearm. Under Texas Penal Code 46.13, a person commits the offense of making a firearm accessible to a child if the child gains access to a readily dischargeable firearm, and the person with criminal negligence:
· Failed to secure the firearm; or
· Left the firearm in a place to which the person knew or should have known the child would gain access
The penalty for allowing a child access to a firearm can range from a Class C misdemeanor (punishable by a $500 fine) to a Class A misdemeanor (punishable by a $4000 fine, a year in jail, or a combination of the two).
Texas exempts the purchase of firearm safety equipment from Texas Sales and Use Tax.
Remember, a gun should be stored unloaded in a safe or locked container, with ammunition stored elsewhere. You can learn more and find additional resources from the Texas Department of Public Safety at https://safegunstoragetexas.com.

A Message from our PTA President, Kamela Aboussie
Dear Bradfield families,
What a sweet, elementary-style week we had! Programs like our students learning to dance the Charleston in honor of Bradfield's 1920's heritage and a Beverly Cleary classic for One School One Book remind me of what elementary school is all about!
Next week, The Blaze is "off" for Thanksgiving vacation, so I wanted to take this opportunity to share how grateful I am for our families and staff.
My prayer at the beginning of the school year was for community, believing the blessing of community is what can supersede things beyond our control. This year was far different than years in the past. We faced unimaginable loss and sorrow, and we hobbled through a field construction project, all the while celebrating Bradfield in a milestone year. Everyone - PTA volunteers, Bradfield Dad's Club, our staff, families, and students rallied to create a supportive and team-oriented spirit this year. I am really honored to be a part of this special community. Thank you for your kindness, grace, patience, empathy, excitement, humility, support and hard work!
I hope this week of school leading to Thanksgiving is a great one for our Broncos, and I hope each of your families enjoy a well-deserved holiday!
With gratitude,
Kamela

Mad for Plaid is the HP Education Foundation’s annual campaign, the only districtwide fundraiser for HPISD. It raises essential funds to support the District’s most critical needs. This year, that need is clear: raising the bar for teacher and staff salaries across all campuses. Giving to Mad for Plaid is the best way to directly support our incredible educators!
YOU are an essential piece of the puzzle and the HP Education Foundation is grateful for your consideration.
