COVID-19 Safety Protocols
As shared at the Annual CCL Meeting, Butte County 4-H is following safety guidelines required by California 4-H.

  • These guidelines currently state masks and social distancing are required for all indoor meetings and events.
  • Masks are optional at outdoor events, but social distancing is still required.
  • These policies apply to all individuals regardless of age or vaccination status.
  • Guidelines can be more strict as deemed necessary by local public health agencies, but cannot be less strict than directed by California 4-H.

Fun Night
This is an annual fundraising event that is sponsored by the Butte County 4-H Council and the 4-H Clubs of Butte County. This event is styled as a family oriented carnival with game booths, tri-tip dinner, cake walk, fabulous silent auction, and much more!
This event is hosted by the Pine Ridge 4-H Club with assistance from Biggs 4-H Club.  

Members are requested to bring a cake for the Cake Walk and/or an item for the Silent Auction.

DATE: Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Silver Dollar Fairgrounds
COST: This event is a fundraiser and we ask for a donation at the door of $2.00. Dinner, games, and silent auction prices vary.

4-H Camp Counselors
Our Camp Program is in need of at least six more female counselors (and more male counselors are welcome to sign-up!)

Camp Counselors will meet monthly to plan for the 2022 Butte County 4-H Camp which will take place from June 26-30. Being a Camp Counselor is one of the high points of 4-H for many of our members, so we recommend eligible members attend the meetings. Counselors must currently be in High School.

  • Most meetings are on Wednesdays
  • All meetings are at 7:00 pm and run from 1-1.5 hours in length
  • Most Meetings will be held at the Durham Memorial Hall. (or other venue’s as needed) Check with Bill for each months location.
  • Teens can sign up as a county member and not be part of a club if they chose.

Butte County 4-H Camp News
Hey Butte County 4-H!

We are excited to announce that this year's 4-H camp is named "Camp Olympia" and will feature a "gods of Olympus" type theme. Our counselors chose this theme at our December meeting which was a blast! We had Smokin' Moes BBQ, tons of games, and even a gift exchange. Over the next 6 meetings we will be assigning teens their jobs, deciding on camp-wide and job-specific activities, picking cabin themes, delegating teens to their cabins, and discussing safety at camp.
Our next 4-H Camp Counselors meeting will be Wednesday, January 19th at 7pm at the Durham Memorial Hall. We are so excited for the ideas and energy our teens bring to camp and can't wait to see all of them at our next meeting!

Pine Ridge 4-H News
This past month in Pine Ridge 4H our club participated in the Parade of Lights in Paradise. As a club we decorated a leader’s truck with many lights and festive decorations. At our December meeting we had our Christmas celebration, including gift exchanges and snacks and games. We also donated toys and essentials to the Adopt a Family program. The officers and leaders of Pine Ridge are looking forward to planning and organizing Fun night!
Lone Pine 4-H News
In December Lone Pine 4H had their club Christmas party with a community service project, games and a sock exchange. It was a lot of fun. We are all looking forward to getting our fair animals soon and 4H Fun Night! Happy New Year from Lone Pine 4H.

Hello everyone. I hope that everyone enjoyed the 2021 Holiday Season.

Every Project Leader should have finished their online courses in eXtension, to continue holding project meetings.

Here is the list of courses with explanations

Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect (Supplemental Course) - This is for the returning Volunteers that took a break 2020-2021.

2021-22 California New Volunteer Course-English - This is for all new Volunteers. There are five modules that need to be completed.

  • Module 1: 4-H Orientation
  • Module 2: Foundations of Positive Youth Development
  • Module 3: Toward an Interculturally Connected 4-H
  • Module 4: Abuse Risk Management for Volunteers
  • Module 5: Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect (1 Lesson + Acknowledgement Questionnaire)




If you are having trouble finding the correct course feel free to reach out to me. I will be happy to help you. I have sent emails to everyone that has not finished. Check your spam if you haven't seen it or search for my email address.

I am still waiting on the DOJ dates from ANR Risk Services for the new volunteers. If you are a new volunteer, and have not sent me a copy of the completed form with the ATI number, please send it to me asap. As soon as I receive the cleared date I will enter them in the new system.

JOANN'S
Spring 2022 Campaign
JOANN would like to engage a few current 4-H’ers and/or alumni to create a project with instructions to share out with their audience of makers. Selected projects may be shared out on JOANN social media channels and promotional materials in the spring of 2022.
 
Creativity is key and JOANN is open to a variety to projects, but please keep in mind that the most successful projects will be simple in their construction so customers can easily re-create them.
 
Once a project concept is approved by the JOANN team, they will provide supplies and/or a gift card to cover any project costs. Please click here to see the Creative Briefs on how to write out the project instructions and get the link to submit your entry on the California 4-H webpage.
