Hello Athletes!
This message will describe what will happen when you arrive for weigh-ins and throughout the day. Please read it completely. I will send another email in a few days for you to print and bring with you. It will give you a sort of check list on what to bring and walk you through all the steps of checking in.
There is a lot of free parking at this venue. I've included a map of the venue area so you know where you're going. Please do not leave valuables in your car.
You have been sent the schedule in a previous email. If you did not see it, I have also posted it on our website www.usaplwa.com. Weigh-ins will begin 2 hours before your start time. Weigh ins are done by lot number (a randomly assigned number). If you are not here when your name is called, you will go to the end of the line to weigh in. Please arrive early and be available to begin your weigh in on time. Please do not wait until the end of weigh in time to show up!
When you arrive, proceed to the table with the "CHECK IN" sign. Here they will verify your USAPL Card (if you purchased it late), pick up you meet shirt and swag bag. If your membership was not current at the time you registered for this event, you MUST show your current USAPL card to the person at the check in table (copy on your phone is fine but the number and expiration date must be visible).
After you do this step, you will proceed to the "WEIGH IN" area. You'll need to record your opening attempts in Kg on your lifters card BEFORE you go in to weigh in. You’ll need your ID (bring an ID with your date of birth and picture. youth and teen without a picture ID must have a copy of their birth certificate) and your lifters card during weigh ins. Form a line and wait your turn to weigh in. You may weigh in wearing your singlet, singlet and t-shirt, t-shirt, underwear or in the nude. Athletes 13 and under MUST weigh in wearing their singlet and t-shirt and must have a guardian present. A male will weigh in men and a female will weigh in females. The person weighing you will record your weight on your Lifters Card and you will initial the card.
While you're waiting to weigh in, another referee will write your first attempts on your lifter card. All attempts need to be written in KILO'S not pounds. There will be many conversion charts to use. DO NOT use kilo conversions on your phones.
The person doing weigh ins will keep your lifters card. Please DO NOT walk around with your card. We need to enter all your info before the meet can begin.
After you have weighed in, proceed to the "EQUIPMENT CHECK" table. Here, all of your lifting gear and attire will be inspected. Please DO NOT wear your singlet to the venue (unless you are under 14 years of age). It needs to be inspected and it is difficult to do this with you wearing it.
After you have completed all these steps, proceed to the lifting platform. Someone will be there to help you get your RACK heights for squat and bench. Your rack heights will be recorded on a sheet of paper. You will need to initial next to the numbers to indicate they are correct. If you are doing deadlift only, you do not need to do this step. These steps may be done in any order. If you are in flight B and C and have a while before you weigh in, you may do these steps first. Just pay attention to where they are in the weigh in process so you don't miss your turn.
After you have completed these steps, you can sit and relax, eat, drink or warm-up. There will be a rules briefing at approximately 8:00am. The first flight will begin at 9:00am. If you are in fight B or C please wait until flight A have completed their warm-ups before you begin warming up.
See you all soon!
Sincerely,
Danna Snow
