April 2021 NEWS
Dear ROSA Community,

Please see the following two announcements related to ROSA’s work.

ROSA Issues Request for Proposal for Fisheries Resource Data Project

ROSA is seeking a qualified contractor to conduct research and prepare a report with recommendations for standardizing and sharing fisheries resource data to support better understanding of the impacts of offshore wind development on ecosystems. While the National Marine Fisheries Service is the primary oversight agency for fisheries resource data, additional parties are gathering data for research and monitoring studies related to offshore wind projects. As the industry grows, there is an opportunity – and need – to collate and standardize data, where appropriate, and make it available for meta-analyses or other research needs, such as ecosystem assessments.

This project will involve summarizing key databases to which data owners can submit their raw data and identifying data sharing gaps that might be resolved through regional entities such as ROSA. To learn more about the project, read the request for proposals (RFP) on our website. Please share the RFP with anyone you think might be interested in this project. The deadline for submitting proposals is May 11, 2021.
