Get Ready for the Spring Garden! | |
|
The Mesa County Libraries Discovery Garden, located at 5th Street and Chipeta Avenue, is looking for volunteers to help plant and maintain the community garden this Spring.
The garden features includes pollinator beds, compost demonstration, a children’s garden, food plots, hoop house, xeric landscaping, native plant area, shade structures, a shed that uses solar panels to power irrigation, and artists’ benches. The Seed Library is reopening from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday, February 26 at the Central Library. You can pick up seeds all day on the 26th, in addition to:
- Checking out over 50 seed varieties
- Taking up to 4 seed packets per month

Joining us at 6 p.m. with Master Gardener, Vanessa Brines for an Indoor Seed Starting 101 discussion and introduction to starting your seeds indoors.

Adult Learning Center main office is moving March 4!
In March, the Adult Learning Center Central Library main office will be moving to the new Clifton Branch library. Through the transition, all classes will remain at their current locations. If you would like to move your class to Clifton, please don’t hesitate to speak with a team member, or to contact us at 970-683-2443 or adultlearning@mcpld.org.

It's time to unleash your creativity and submit your entries for the library's Recycled Book Juried Art Show.
The call for artists will open on Monday, January 8, and close at 8 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2024. All entries can be submitted electronically via the library's website, and artists will be notified of acceptance by Wednesday, March 6.

From January 8 through April 12, 2024, Emily Adamson will be the 970West Studio Artist in Residence, where she will focus on the art of rug making. Programs offered by Adamson will explore the history of rug making and techniques such as needle punching.
Adamson will be hosting weekly Meet & Greets every Tuesday from 12-2 p.m. starting January 9 at the 970West Studio located at 502 Ouray Ave, across from the Central Library.
