Understanding BEDC’s Covid-19 Business Continuity & Sustainability Funding Programme
This Business Sustainability & Continuity Funding Programme is one of BEDC’s key business financing tools created in response to the significant impact of Covid-19 on Bermuda’s local small and medium-sized businesses. We have prepared an explanation video to help you better understand the requirements.
Lunch & Learn Webinar:
Pivoting to Do Business Online
BEDC's Jamillah Lodge led a virtual lunch and learn to help business owners understand how to pivot to do business online. The webinar included a panel discussion, where Danielle Paynter of the NAB App, Kamilah Cannonier of Sweet SAK Bakery, and Kelsea Williams of NovelTea talked about their experiences running an online business. Jamillah was also joined by Peter Fawn from Butterfield Bank provided insight on what is required to sign up for a merchant account.
Pivot to Profit Webinar: An EEZ Outreach Panel Discussion
BEDC's MSME Team led a virtual panel discussion alongside entrepreneurs from each of our economic empowerment zones (EEZ's) to help business owners understand how to pivot to profit. The webinar focused on how businesses can benefit from being in the EEZ's, the support available to them, and how thinking outside of the box can help them be successful at this challenging economic time.
BEDC Celebrated MSME Day with a Shop, Share, Support Campaign
On Saturday, June 27th BEDC Celebrated International MSME Day for the first time with great success! Our Shop, Share & Support campaign encouraged the public to shop local and support their favorite businesses in hopes of winning $500 for themselves and $500 for the business they chose to shop, share and support. BEDC also partnered with the NAB App to run an instagram live campaign that saw each of our MSME officers and Danielle from NAB, visit businesses across the island to give viewers an insider look at business.
