UPDATE for our PATIENTS
MARCH 30, 2020
Dear Patient of FOWH,

MY APOLOGIES FOR THE PRIOR HEADLINE
PLEASE FORGIVE THE SENSATIONALISM.

I would like to share with you some facts about the coronavirus and COVID that I think deserve emphasis.

  1. COVID can cause a GI illness.
  2. COVID is mainly contagious by virus getting on someone’s hands and then that person touching their own face, eyes or nose.
  3. The total number of cases is not the most useful number.
  4. Most people do NOT need to be tested for COVID.
  5. Only go to the ER if you think you are sick enough to be hospitalized.
BREAKING NEWS

OB patients have been worried about not being able to have someone with them when they give birth, because of what was being done in NYC. Governor Cuomo just mandated for the entire state that any woman giving birth can have one "birth partner" with her. This is the Huntington Hospital Policy.

"In no hospital in New York will a woman be forced to be alone when she gives birth. Not now, not ever," Gov. Andrew Cuomo tweeted Saturday .
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we get through these difficult times together. As always, please call us with your concerns.

Dr. Jick
p.s. I am trying my best to educate our patients about this situation. Please forgive me if sometimes I am not expressing myself properly. I do not mean to offend, only to inform.
