As we embark on a new way of learning – virtual learning, the Early Learning Coalition of Broward County would like to share an exciting opportunity with you!
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, a company called
DOC Parent Portal
, who created a virtual online schooling platform for preschoolers, along with their funding partner, the A.D. Henderson Foundation, have agreed to provide
free access to their online platform for ELC providers and families across Broward County at no cost.
This is a great tool that will allow continued teaching and learning opportunities while you are closed and/or your preschool children remain in their homes.
Schools will have the ability to:
- Customize the DOC Parent Portal for their children/families.
- Choose daily activities from the DOC Library.
- Upload personalized daily messages to families.
- Share video recordings of their own teachers.
Families will be able to share pictures of their projects and activities with their educators and fellow students within the DOC Parent Portal.
Additionally, ELC Education staff will be using this virtual learning tool to offer learning opportunities to the community at large, accessible through our website.
Your relationship with your families can continue to grow through this site and allow for families to find meaningful learning activities to do with their children at home. The portal can be accessed from any smartphone, tablet, or PC with no installations required.
Of course, there is no obligation to use this tool. However, if you are interested in creating your own online school community through the DOC Preschool platform, please click the button below.
