Dr. Britt Hall

Dr. Britt Hall, a professor of biology in the Faculty of Science, has won the U of R 2023 Outstanding Graduate Supervision Award. Dr. Hall creates a welcoming and stimulating learning environment for her students both in the lab and in the field, where observation, debate, team building, creativity and critical thinking are particularly encouraged. Dr. Hall exposes her students to pressing societal and environmental issues such as Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), climate change, environmental degradation, discrimination against women and minorities in STEM, research funding and communication, among others. Dr. Hall has been a role model for women in science with a tremendous positive impact on the lives of her graduate students.

Startup 101 Bootcamp

Startup 101 Bootcamp will be a three-part series, between November and March. This program will introduce students, postdocs and faculty to the world of entrepreneurship and startups, while bringing the Saskatchewan tech ecosystem into the University. The first two sessions will involve panel sessions with Q&As as well as interactive group learning sessions. The final part will be a pitch competition with cash prizes and mentorship being provided along the way from Startup TNT. If you are interested in entrepreneurship, innovation or startups, this event is for you!

INSPIRE Research Symposium

The Interdisciplinary Series for Professional Intellectual and Research Engagement (INSPIRE) and FGSR have teamed up to host an interdisciplinary research symposium at the U of R. This event will reflect a conference atmosphere, with several presentation sessions, a data blitz session, a poster session, in addition to other exciting ways to engage. The research symposium will take place on Wednesday Nov. 22 at the U of R!

This symposium is open to students and postdocs who engage in research at all levels. We invite research at any stage (proposals, completed projects) to be presented. If you would like to present at this exciting research symposium, please fill out this brief survey so we can gauge interest. Further information for registration will be provided in the weeks to come.
