More electric vehicle charging points to be installed in Royal Borough

Plans to increase the number of on-street electric vehicle charge points across Windsor and Maidenhead are set to go ahead, as part of the council’s aim to deliver a cleaner and greener borough.

Bids to install new charge points will now be invited from companies that will help the council to meet the expected increase in demand from electric vehicles by 2035.

Covid and flu vaccinations start this Monday

The NHS’s annual winter vaccination programme protects those most at risk from developing serious illnesses during the colder months when people gather indoors and viruses spread.

If you’re eligible for both vaccines, look out for your invitation from your GP. In some cases, you’ll be able to have both at the same time. You can also book your Covid and flu jabs via the NHS website, by downloading the NHS App, or by calling 119 for free if you cannot get online.

For the first time this year, the NHS is also offering vaccines for respiratory syncytial virus, a common cause of coughs and colds which can be dangerous to older people and young children.

Royal Borough adopts Youth Engagement Pledge

We’ve adopted a Youth Engagement Pledge that outlines our promise to include the voices of young people in the services we deliver.

The pledge has been co-produced with our Youth Council, Girls Forum and Inclusion Ambassadors and contains seven commitments; from involving young people on the issues that affect them, to providing feedback on how their views have made a difference in the Royal Borough.
