Fall Fêtes on the Corridor

Whether you live here in Acadiana or you are driving in from someplace else. there are plenty of things to celebrate along Corridor des Arts.

You can attend the 1st Annual Fête de

Saint-Luc at the Saint Luc French Immersion and Cultural Campus where you'll find a host of activities organized by their amazing team.

Maybe you want to feed that sweet tooth? If so, you can head on over to the Grand Coteau Cultural District for the annual Sweet Dough Pie Festival.

What about doing something a bit more boo-dacious? If so, bring the kids and check out the Halloween and Nature Festival at Atelier de la Nature.

Perhaps a bit of adulting is what you are looking for. If so, then head out to Bayou Teche Brewing for their annual

Halloween party.

Whatever the case may be, you can certainly embrace the good life along

Reilly NU-WERK Maker's Space

1510 Courtableau Hwy, Arnaudville

Soon you will be able to create your dream project, whether it’s for making art, improving your workforce skills, or for personal or academic purposes.

The Van Arsdale Technology and Design Studio is part of the developing Winifred and Kevin Reilly NU-WERK (Workforce Education Research Knowledge) Maker's Space located at the NUNU Arts and Culture Collective. Future spaces include a shared kitchen, a textile studio, a frame shop, and a print shop.

NU-WERK is volunteer-run and is made available to the NUNU member base that is 1) trained on how to use the equipment and 2) pay a material/space-use fee.

The project was made available through design services, fiscal sponsorship, product

donations, and in-kind labor by Winifred and Kevin Reilly, Jon Ella and David Hays, Larry Bourque, George Arnaud, Peg Ramier, Brian Erberich, George Marks, Lawrence Guidroz, Larry Fall, Kelby and Andre of JEH Solar, Melanie Robin and Russell's Food Center crew, and David P. Morrow. The Technology and Design Studio in particular is sponsored in great part by Gloria and Erik Van Arsdale.

Infrastructure support is connected to funding received by the Delta Regional Planning Commission and the Acadiana Planning Commission.

Complimentary refreshments and also for-purchase items from Oana Chivoiu.

NUNU welcomes sponsorship of the shared kitchen, textile studio, frame shop, and print shop.

Gardeining

It's that time of year again. Our first cool front has arrived, and it's getting time to plant a fall garden. This fall and winter, I'm offering space at the community garden for you to grow your own veggies. This year, I'll have 6 rows available to community members. You can rent a half row ($25) or a full row ($50). All the tools are provided to you at no cost. If you're interested, reply to this email and I'll provide further information.

I'll also be hosting a fall gardening workshop in a few

weeks (date TBD). Those who rent a row can join at no cost. For everyone else, the fee will be $10 to cover costs for plants and fertilizer. This will be a workshop in French and English, so you can learn some gardening terms en français. For those interested, just reply to this email to let me know.

I hope you've all had a great summer. I look forward to seeing you at the garden this winter.

À bientôt

Jonathan

La Patente is four guys born in the wilds of Madawaska and subsequently reunited in Fredericton, New Brunswick. They came together not only for the joy of playing good music together, but also to give you some

francophone folk rock with balls. It is not your grandma’s folk (unless she's a baller). No frills, no fancy tricks, no Auto-tune; just blasting songs with cajun triangle and a damn good story.
