COSTA-HAWKINS SURVIVES EXTREMISTS

The extremists behind Measure H lost their attempt to circumvent the Costa-Hawkins Rental Housing Act this week, which prevents cities from imposing rent control and other unreasonable requirements on single family homes and newer apartments.

One member of the Rent Board claimed that the judges "didn't understand" the law, so the anti-business wing demanded a re-hearing. This was refused, and state law continues to preempt extremists' attacks on property rights.

This vital protection of property rights has an effect beyond Pasadena, and we congratulate the California Apartment Association on their success, documented HERE.

RENTAL BOARD POSITION AVAILABLE

This is a paid position with compensation for up to 20 hours per week at an hourly rate of $45.10. You can help to make sure housing providers' voices are heard by applying.
