Dear clients and business partners
This communication is to inform you about the reform of Article 460 of the Commercial Code; published on May 13, 2021, in the Alcance number 95 to the official Newspaper “La Gaceta” N°91, related to electronic invoices.
The reform will allow the electronic invoice to be considered as an enforceable collection title, for which it must comply with the following requirements:
- Having the digital signature of the buyer or duly authorized person.
- The tax stamp must be added to the printed copy of the electronic invoice that is provided with the lawsuit along with the digital backup of the original.
This reform starts to take effect from May 13, 2021, the day of its publication.
We recommend that the Credit and Collection Departments consider these requirements within their policies to facilitate the collection of accounts receivable through expedite procedures.
