About 80 pastors & spouses gathered in Tilaran, Costa Rica to be built up, encouraged, and assisted to help reach and serve their communities for Jesus Christ.
As always, it's an honor to be part of an event like this. So much work into putting this event together, but the best part about it was that Nate really had nothing to do with it! Our full-time Costa Rica staff and our amazing PPM-CR board members did the majority of the preparations!
Nate's part was to share about PPM Global and cast vision for these pastors to take their members on a mission trip either to another part of Costa Rica or to another nearby country. This was the first time that the concept of PPM Global had been introduced face-to-face.
Earlier in the year, Costa Rica sent their first team consisting of a pastora along with the girls from their youth group to go serve another church a few hours away. Nate (and the entire conference attendees) were able to hear a testimony from this trip. Pastora Xiomara, pictured above in the teal shirt standing next to Nate, told how deeply her youth group girls were impacted by serving at another church. Within a few weeks of the girls returning home, they were implementing the ministries that they were exposed to on their trip! These teenage girls are full of passion to serve in their community!
For Nate's presentation, he used a ball or yard and passed it to Pastora Xiomara. She, in turn, held on to the yarn and threw the ball of yarn to Pastora Yessenia who previously received the team. From there the pastors continued to pass the ball of yarn, showing how PPM Global exists to connect the local church all over Costa Rica! We are praying that from this conference many more would say yes to taking their church on a mission church to go serve!
