Hey Vineyard family and supporters,

How are you doing?  We hope the weather isn't too bad to handle.  We are having a blast except for the massive sunburns.  The weather has been so nice the last several days staying around 80-82 degrees with a few sprinkles (which couldn't stop us from getting stuff done), and we couldn't ask for a better time to be down here.

We started off our day by traveling to La Via Church where we have been all week.  After arriving, we had a breakfast called Gallo Pinto, which consisted of eggs, rice, and black beans fried with small onions a.k.a.Heaven on Earth.

After breakfast, we split up into several groups.  Bri and Lydia continued painting the church's sign while Nate, Matt and Manuel continued working on the roof along with a friend of Pablo's and everyone else started to paint the wall on the inside of the church's compound (shown above).  We ended up finishing the roof today after several days of rigorous work putting up the foundation and getting all of the materials ready for use.

Later today, we had Kid's Club again which wasn't as successful as the other day just because there were more leaders than kids that showed up while some others went out for house-to-house prayer and about four people including me stayed to finish up the painting of the wall.

At about 3 pm, I went out with Nate, Jaime and our translator Liz for some house-to-house prayer where we were able to pray for a mother and son about family and future for them.  While we were out praying for people, another group was praying for a man who was recently in a fight with his son over drugs and helped him commit his life to Jesus, which was the best part of the day.  Another group was praying for a woman who has 5 kids and just lost her husband a few weeks back.  The woman also said that she needed prayer because one of her sons was going to court in a few weeks and could possibly go to jail for about 35 years because of something he did, so Faith prayed for her and gave her a hug.

Today was a very important day for one of our leaders named Manuel because it was his birthday, so we sang him happy birthday while Matt sang his version called "The Birthday Rap" which was fun.  Later tonight, we bought a chocolate cake for him and played some music including The Chicken Dance, The Hokey Pokey and more.

Well, that's it for today.  Stay tuned for the last couple of updates in the next few days.
