Good afternoon

This week, we celebrated the completion of the Cottrell Bridge in Westerly, restoring this vital connection between Routes 78 and 1 for the community.

_
Airport Connector, Warwick

Overnight paving continues at the Airport Connector, with daytime center median and drainage work. Both require alternating lane closures on the Airport Connector, plus temporary ramp closures during the paving operation. Follow signed detours.

_
Hunts Mill Bridge, East Providence

Motorists continue to follow the detour around the closed bridge as we start to build its south, and then north, abutment walls.

_

I-95 North Viaduct, Providence

All lanes of travel on I-95 North, plus traffic on the on-ramp from Atwells Avenue, are now crossing the new I-95 North Viaduct. Various ramps within the Exit 37 (old Exit 22) interchange will be closed overnight for concrete abutment repairs. Follow signed detour. Motorists should also anticipate overnight alternating lane closures within the project area along I-95 to install steel at the Smith Street Bridge.

_

Pawtucket/Central Falls Transit Center

Last month at the Transit Center, we completed the platform installation for the Boston-bound commuter passengers, half a mile of dedicated bus and bicycle lanes on Exchange Street that lead to the Center, and sidewalks. We also started signage and framing for the glass components and handrails along the access ramps, and installed benches and bike racks throughout the project limits. In addition, we continued the roofing system for the elevator towers, pedestrian bridges, stairway access, and platform canopies.

Pell Bridge Ramps Phase 2, Newport

Please be aware of the new traffic pattern with the Route 138 extension open for eastbound travel to Admiral Kalbfus Road. Bridge rehabilitation and demolition will continue along Route 138 and may require temporary lane shifts along Third Street and JT Connell Highway. Grading and sidewalk work will be conducted along Malbone Street and Girard Avenue, the bio-retention and grading for the shared use path will continue along America’s Cup Avenue and Farewell Street, and electrical work and construction of mast arm foundations will take place site wide. Flaggers and police details remain onsite to guide vehicles through the work zones.

_
Reservoir Avenue Railroad Bridge, Providence

Overnight, crews will continue installing steel girders. The bridge remains closed with a signed detour in place.

_

Route 6/10 Interchange Reconstruction, Providence

Weekday lane closures along Route 10 South and Route 6 East to install median barrier along Route 10 South, pave and stripe the Route 6 East/Route 10 South detour ramp and install temporary barrier and striping on Route 6 East to accommodate it, plus grade the portion of Harris Avenue adjacent to the Tobey Street and Harris Avenue bridges.

_
Schoolhouse Road Culvert, Warren

The road remains closed as we continue building the culvert’s retaining walls. Once complete, grading and drainage will be underway.

_
Washington Bridge, East Providence/Providence

Ongoing construction requires the closure of the on-ramps from Veterans Memorial Parkway and Warren Avenue to I-195 West on Tuesday night. Please follow signed detour. Electrical work, median barrier work, and bridge deck demolition and repair will also involve weekday and overnight traffic impacts on I-195, Valley Street and Gano Street. Get the details here.
