Spruce Up The Center Day
Saturday, October 17 from 9am–1pm
Do you love visiting the Galleries, attending live events, and taking in-person classes at the Center? Help us give a little love back to the space that makes it all possible! Save the date for our Annual Spruce Up the Center Day: Saturday, October 17 from 9am to 1pm (rain date: Sunday, October 18 from 9am to 1pm). Volunteers should bring gloves, rakes, tarps, wheelbarrows, leaf blowers, and pruning tools. Masks and social distancing will be required. We’ll treat everyone to lunch!
Our beautiful campus relies heavily on volunteers to keep it neat and accessible throughout the year. If you have new or gently used garden tools you wish to donate, we would be very grateful to store them in our sheds for volunteer use.
Check out the Spruce Up the Campus Day Projects on our website for more details. Please contact Kim at [email protected] with any questions. Hope to see you at the Center soon!

|
|
Welcome to the return of Purple Figs, Cotuit Center for the Arts' very own ekphrastic workshop! Every episode, Kim and Jason explore the gallery at the Center and write poetry inspired by a specific piece in the show. Check out the previous episode of Purple Figs by clicking here.
This episode we look at work from the recent exhibition, More than ENOUGH by Jane Lincoln. Although the exhibit itself has concluded, her work can be seen online at her website.
Our current exhibits are on display until November 7, so please join us at the Gallery! For more information, please visit our website.
Questions? Reach out to Kim or Jason via email. We hope to see you soon!

Dark, bold, and sometimes satirical is how Cape Cod artist Jaime Elkins describes her work that reflects the response she has toward the world as she sees it. This exhibit features a series where the artist spent more than a year visiting and painting the same tree in Yarmouthport. A tree she has named Weepy.

Dysfunctional is an art show about thought-provoking ceramic work that doesn’t serve an immediate practical purpose. Curated by ceramic artist Lois Hirshberg and sculptor Neil Grant, Dysfunctional is a selection of sculptures, vessels and other creations where engaging the mind is much more important than fitting the hand.
|
|
Exhibits will be on display through November 7, 2020.
Gallery admission is free during Gallery hours and by appointment.
Gallery hours: Wed–Sat, 10am–4pm

Check out highlights from past hits on the Cotuit Stage!
Executive director David Kuehn is periodically uploading video clips of some of his favorite moments from past productions on the main stage. We realize the sound and video quality is not great—we record our performances for archival and educational purposes only—but it will give you a chance to come back regularly, check out some of the numbers from shows you saw and loved in the past, or that you missed. You're welcome!

The Center's Little Free Library is BACK!
|
Take a book, leave a book, and enjoy. Thank you to everyone who donated food during our Little Free Library's time as a Little Free Pantry! All leftover contributions are being donated to local food pantries. While you're checking out the newly reinstated Library, you can leave a message on our 'Art Is...' chalk wall, letting everyone know how important art is to you! Both are located just to the right of the main theater building.
