April Cougar Chronicle
Dear Parents,

Rites and rituals are among the gifts that make our Catholic faith very rich and meaningful. Years after your children have grown and moved out of the house, they recall the times that their family prayed together. They remember going to Sunday Mass with the entire family. As parents, you have a wonderful opportunity and responsibility to influence and strengthen your child’s practice of the faith.

At Corpus Christi School even during a pandemic, the children have many opportunities which teach them the importance of faith in their lives. We pray the Rosary each month in honor of our Blessed Mother. During Lent we pray the Stations of the Cross. We also virtually celebrate Mass as a school community each month. The practice of our faith is a visible sign to the children of our love for God and all the gifts we have been given. Parents are welcome to join us for any of these occasions.

The week of March 29th marks the holiest days of the year, Holy Week. The Triduum begins on the evening of Holy Thursday with remembering how Jesus first gave us himself in the bread and wine of the Eucharist. It continues on Good Friday with the celebration of the Lord’s Passion as we recall Christ’s sacrifice for us. On the night of Holy Saturday, we celebrate the Easter Vigil, and on Easter Sunday we celebrate the Resurrection with great joy. On these days, together with Christians all over the world, we remember the final events in Jesus’ earthly life: Jesus’ Last Supper, his Passion, Crucifixion and death, and his Resurrection.

I wish all our families a blessed Easter!

Peace,
Mrs. Ann T. Sarpu

Opportunity to Fulfill Your Fundraising Obligation – Fore the Children Tournament

As you know, Fore the Children, the Corpus Christi School Golf Tournament, is now scheduled for Tuesday, June 1 at Wampanoag Country Club. Please check your email tomorrow morning for all of the details. It will be a great day filled with delicious and plentiful food and drink, amazing prizes, and wonderful company.
It’s also a great opportunity to fulfill your Home & School Fundraising Obligation (HFO). 75% of all sponsorships that you bring in will go towards your HFO. For example, for every tee sign sponsorship you bring in, 75% of it will go towards your requirement ($150 x .75 = $112.50). If you or your company are interested in a larger sponsorship, such as the Dinner Sponsorship, you could earn even more towards your HFO.

We welcome players of all levels! If you don’t play, we also have an option to join us for cocktails and dinner. Plan now so you can extend your Memorial Day weekend and join us on that Tuesday for a fun day supporting a great cause!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Please be mindful that snacks, food and candy cannot be brought into the school because of severe allergies and food intolerances and most recently because of the pandemic.

While I understand that children wish to celebrate birthdays, we are trying to keep the risk for infections as well as reactions to a minimum. We do not want to isolate the students that cannot eat these foods and we must stand firm with the protocol as it is written in the Student handbook.

Thank you for your cooperation.
