Grand Knight's Report

Brother Knights,

December 2024 is now a thing of the past, here are some of the highpoints. On Sunday, December 1st, we had our Sunday breakfast and it benefitted the Fransalian Associates Ministry. The breakfast got off to a slow start but then it really picked up after the 11:00 am Mass and it ended up being another successful breakfast. I would like to thank all the Brother Knights who came out to help. Next month’s breakfast will be on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, and it will benefit SJN Scout Troop 522.

On Tuesday, December 10th we held our membership meeting. It was a brief meeting. We shored up our plans for the upcoming “Breakfast with Santa” and we also donated boxes of coats from Knights of Columbus State Program “Coats for Kids” to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. Afterall, it does get cold in Georgia and the Knights are happy to donate quality coats for children who are in need.

On Saturday, December 14th, The Knights hosted “Breakfast with Santa.” It was a fun-filled morning. We served pancakes, sausage, donut holes, orange juice and hot chocolate to the children of St. John Neumann Catholic Church as well as students of the SJN Regional Catholic School. The Knights who volunteered really got into the Christmas spirit too. I want to thank BK Glenn Klein for chairing the event and making the event successful. I want to especially thank BK Jim Ollick for donating his photography skills to “Breakfast with Santa.” BK Jim always does a great job with this.

I hope all my Brother Knights and their families had a peaceful and enjoyable Holiday Season. For the New Year of 2025 my goal is to make progress with recruiting new Brother Knights and also help current Brother Knights. If you are reading this, please let me or one of the Officers know how we can help. Thank you and God Bless you All.

That concludes my report.

Vivat Iesu,

GK Brian Jeffers

Lecturer's Report

Today's Meditation

"Essentially a soldier, the Christian is always on the lookout. He has sharper ears and hears an undertone that others miss; his eyes see things in a particularly candid light, and he senses something to which others are insensible, the streaming of a vital current through all things. He is never submerged in life, but keeps his head and shoulders clear of it and his eyes free to look upward. Consequently he has a deeper sense of responsibility than others. When this awareness and watchfulness disappear, Christian life loses its edge; it becomes dull and ponderous." —Fr. Romano Guardini, p. 177
