Grand Knight's Report

Brother Knights,

June 2025 is now behind us and with the month of June being over the Knights begin their Fraternal Year on July 1st and I Brian Jeffers, will be returning as Grand Knight for my third term for the 2025-2026 Fraternal Year. But first let us look back at the olden days of June 2025. On Sunday, June 1st, we held our Sunday Breakfast and it benefited the Walking with Moms in Need Ministry. It was another successful fundraiser and I thank all the Brother Knights and the Walking with Moms Ministry for coming out to help. On Saturday, June 7th, our Council hosted the Fourth Degree Exemplification Ceremony where we honored our very own Pastor Fr. Sunny. Two members from our Council were newly exemplified as Fourth Degree Sir Knights and they were SK Stephen Rasmussen and SK Jonathan Andrade. Congratulations to both of them! The ceremony was also a fundraiser for our Council and it was a very successful one too. We nearly raised $1,000. Great job Brothers Knights.

During the June 2025 membership meeting, we voted and approved a motion to move the cost of the 2 chest freezers that cost $1,399.66 from the Fish Fry expense budget to the charitable expense budget. This gave SJN ownership of the 2 chest freezers. We also voted and approved the 2025-2026 Fraternal Year Budget finally the Council Officers were elected for the 2025-2026 Fraternal Year.

As mentioned earlier I will be the Grand Knight for a third term. For this term, I would like to continue to grow our great organization by inviting or re-inviting members of our Parish or to be part of our organization. We will continue to reach out to the Spanish Speaking Parishioners and invite them to be part of our organization too. Also, during my third term I will continue to encourage more participation among our current members. During our fundraisers we have many of the same Brother Knights helping. So, Brother Knights if you’re not too active and reading this consider helping even if it’s just for an hour or two. No amount of help is too small. Your help would be valuable and meaningful too. Finally, Brother Knights I’m glad to be your Grand Knight again and I’m here for you and so are the Council 7923 Officers. So, tell us your ideas and what you would like to see done by coming to the meetings or suggesting something personally. We are here to help! May God Bless you All!

That concludes my report.

Vivat Iesu,

GK Brian Jeffers

Lecturer's Report

BK David Werve presented the following:

"The fullness of wisdom is fear of the Lord, she is present with the faithful in the womb (Sirach 1:14). Fear of the Lord does not mean to be afraid of God. It means to stand in awe and wonder before the greatness of the Lord. When we recognize that God is God and we are creatures, we develop a healthy sense of humility. We acknowledge our need for wisdom and grace, which are both gifts of the Holy Spirit." —Rev. Jude Winkler, p. 9
