Grand Knight's Report

Brother Knights,

September 2025 has ended but it was one for the ages. Here are some of the highlights. On Sunday, September 7th, we held our Sunday Breakfast, and it benefited the Special Needs Ministry. It was another successful enterprise and thank you to all the Brother Knights who helped and members of the Special Needs Ministry who came out to help.

At our membership meeting on September 8th, we voted on two tabled motions, first the Council By-Laws and second the donation of $5,000 to St. John Neumann towards the canopy project beside Reynolds Hall. The motion on the Council By-Laws was signed into law. The other tabled motion of donating $5,000 towards the canopy project passed as well. Then a new request from Fr. Sunny came up for the canopy project and that was to donate $2,200 towards the installation of lighting, ceiling fan and an outdoor electrical outlet. A motion was made to move $2,200 from the KofC investment account to the Charitable Budget Expense Budget. The motion was carried and tabled. An official vote will take place on Monday, October 13th at the Membership Meeting.

On Saturday, October 4th a Funeral Mass was held for Brother Knight Leo Schiltgen. BK Leo was a regular volunteer for KofC events like Sunday Breakfasts and Lenten Fish Fry Dinners. During our meetings and socials other Brother Knights remembered him and spoke kindly of him. Please pray for the repose of the soul of BK Leo Schiltgen.

Looking ahead, the Knights of Columbus will be hosting a Sunday Breakfast on Sunday, October 5th and it will benefit the Respect Life Ministry. Then on Saturday, October 18th St. John Neumann will hold their Annual Fall Festival. The Knights will be serving hot dogs and hamburgers during the festival. At the risk of sounding like a broken record if you’re Brother Knight reading this and you aren’t tremendously active; we could use your help. So, please consider volunteering at the festival or even attending. We could also use some more help at our monthly breakfast too. I will ensure that your participation will be appreciated and will not go unnoticed. For me, volunteering is the most rewarding experience about being a Brother Knight. So come on down and experience the joys of being a volunteer. May God Bless you All!

That concludes my report.

Vivat Iesu,

GK Brian Jeffers
