Brother Knights,

April 2025 is now over but let’s remember the good old days of April. On Friday, April 4th we had our fifth Fish Fry Dinner and then on April 11th we had our final one. Overall, the Lenten Fish Fry Season was successful and we came close to our sales goal. I want to thank all the Brother Knights and the Life Teen Ministry for helping make our Fish Fry’s a success. Pulling off six dinners is a monumental task from shopping, cooking, order taking, to the breakdown and clean up. In doing so, we also received many compliments about our dinners too from how well organized we were to the taste of our fish, shrimp and hushpuppies. Some Parishioners went to other local Catholic Churches and then came to ours and said ours was the best. My final comment on the 2025 Lenten Fish Fry Season is Great Job Brother Knights!

During the April membership meeting, I recapped and praised the Brother Knights about the Fish Fry Dinners. Also, during the meeting we held an exemplification where we exemplified long-time SJN Parishioner Michael Layton. We are glad to have him on board. We exemplified 6 new Brother Knights in the month of April. Also, during the meeting we had a guest speaker and candidate for Georgia State Warden DD Brian Musha. Brian spoke briefly about the importance of answering the needs of Catholic men through prayer, formation and fraternity. The program is called COR. In April we decided to forego the Sunday Breakfast due to the Friday Fish Fry Dinners, however, we will resume our Sunday Breakfasts on Sunday May 4th. That breakfast will benefit the Marriage Family Life Ministry. On Sunday, April 27th a few Knights cooked hamburgers and hot dogs for the EDGE middle schoolers. Cleme Rodriguez the EDGE Director and the middle-schoolers were very appreciative of having the Knights cook for them. Looking ahead, May 2025 will be a quiet month for most Knights. However, me and 3 other Brother Knights will be attending the State Convention in Jekyll Island, GA to elect the Georgia State Officers and vote on other resolutions that have been put forth. On June 7th, our Council will be hosting a Fourth Degree Exemplification Ceremony. I encourage any 3rd Degree Brother Knight in our Council to consider advancing to the Fourth Degree and possibly get a sword afterward so you can participate in Honor Guard ceremonies. Saturday, June 7th is a perfect opportunity since it will be right here at St, John Neumann Catholic Church. Finally, Brother Knights I just want to say thank you all for what you did during the Lenten Fish Fry Dinners and what you’ve done for St. John Neumann Catholic Church. BK Daniel really stepped up during the

Lenten Fish Fry. He did what was necessary from calling out orders in the kitchen to cleaning up.

On Friday April 4th he took over as the Kitchen Captain and according to other Knights he did a

great job.
