Volume 80 | March 2024
Grand Knight's Report
Dear Brother Knights,

It was another action-packed month. First, we had our Sunday Breakfast on February 4th which benefited the Flame of Love Ministry. It was a successful breakfast and I would like to thank the Flame of Love Ministry for coming out to help promote their ministry and with the cleanup.

Lent began on Ash Wednesday, February 14th and that was followed by our first Lenten Fish Fry Dinner on Friday, February 16th and then another dinner on February 23rd. Both February dinners were well-attended and successful and there will be four more Lenten Fish Fry Dinners in March 2024.

On February 12th we held our membership meeting. BK Gil Abad brought and shared some good pizza from Papa John’s and like last month there was some left over which I had for dinner during the week.

Father Noble joined us once again for the meeting and he led us in prayer. During the meeting, I presented him with a KofC apron with his name on it. We call our aprons the KofC uniform. We are grateful and blessed to have Father Noble in our Council.

During our February meeting I presented Brother Knight Paul Varuso (wife Sheila Varuso and son Joshua Varuso) for Family of the Month and BK Michael Jones with the Knight of Month Award. Both the Family and Knight of the Month are regular volunteers for Council events and I truly appreciate all that they do for the Council and the Church.
Looking ahead, the next Breakfast will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2024 and it will benefit the Grounds Beautification Ministry. Our Worthy Financial Secretary is wrapping up the collection of KofC membership dues for the 2024 calendar year. If you renewed your membership, I would like to thank you for deciding to renew and I would like to also encourage you to make the most out of your membership and consider participating more. The Lenten Fish Fry’s Dinners are every Friday until March 22nd and this is an excellent way to participate and meet other Parishioners who you might not have otherwise met.

Finally, the Season of Lent and Spring are known for renewal and new beginnings and I would encourage all Brother Knights to renew their commitment to the Church and to explore other Ministries that our Parish Community offers. The Lenten Season is a great time to renew your Spiritual Life or just give it a tune-up. May God bless you all.

That concludes my report.

Vivat Iesu,

GK Brian Jeffers

Lecturer's Reflection
The month of February is traditionally dedicated to the Passion of Our Lord in anticipation of the liturgical season of Lent. In this month, we begin to meditate on the mystery of Jesus’ sufferings which culminated in his death on the Cross for the redemption of mankind. Saints who had a special devotion to Christs’ passion include St. John of the Cross; St. Bridget of Sweden; and St. Catherine of Siena. And St. Francis of Assisi, who was the first known Saint to receive the Stigmata.
