Volume 31 | February 2020
Grand Knight’s Report
Worthy Brother Knights,

Knights, our January 2020 roster says we have 278 members with around 15 that are dropping out or have moved
leaving us with 263 dues paying and honorary members. Out of that number we have around 20% (52) that participate
on a monthly basis ( service events, meetings, socials).

All dues paying members receive this newsletter so I thank you for financially supporting the Knights Of Columbus.

While the money is important what we really need is some of your time. Nowadays that seems harder to give than money.
We have monthly events, meetings, etc. and our major annual event is coming up, the Lenten fish fry. You should be receiving
sign up E mails now.
As Catholics we know that service to the Church in important. Frankly we cannot do much for Rome but Saint John Neumann in
Lilburn, GA sure could use your support. Almost all of the councils labor and financial support goes to SJN and that will only grow in the future.

Please plan on eating with us during Lent and if you have some time please sign up to help.

See you on Fridays.

Vivat Jesus,

Mike MacFarlane

New Business

The new HVAC has been installed in the Neumann Center at a cost of approximately $5,500. PGK Dominic Druda made a motion to use the $2,455 remaining from the $20,000 Neumann Center Remodeling Fund to help offset the cost of the new HVAC. The motion was seconded and tabled for further consideration at the next meeting.

The GK brought up that our rooms in the Neumann Center are being cleaned twice per month at $80 per cleaning. This is being paid for by the parish, and it was decided that the Council not offer to assist with that cost at this time, but perhaps consider including in the next budget.

Planning for this year’s Fish Fries has started. Menu basically same as last year. We are buying some mats to put by the fryers that will absorb grease and can be cleaned. Expect to see sign-up lists starting after Super Bowl.

PGK Mark Davis made a motion that the Council provide $900 from the discretionary charity fund to SJN School to support their golf tournament. The motion was seconded and tabled for further consideration at the next meeting.

PGK Houston Feaster reported we will have a Super Bowl Party. It was not decided if it would be open to the parish or just for Knights. Houston is in charge. We currently have food for 50-75 people. Cash bar.
