Grand Knight's Report
Dear Brother Knights,

My name is Brian Jeffers and this is my first Grand Knight report. For my first report, I would like to tell you a little about my Knight’s journey and how I became a Knight. It started after a July 2019 Mass. The Knights were having hamburger dinner after the 5 pm Mass and my wife and I stayed to eat dinner and we sat by Mark and Pam Davis. Mark told me about Council 7923 and I already knew about the Knights of Columbus before meeting Mark but now I was ready to answer God’s call. I enjoy helping others and volunteering and that’s why I wanted to become a Knight. I just needed a little push. Thank you, Mark Davis.

Shortly after the dinner, I started going to the socials and then I was exemplified and I started attending the meetings. That’s how I officially became a Knight. In May 2020 Mark Dallas called me and asked me if I wanted to be an Officer and I agreed. I was a Recorder for 2 years.

Then in November 2020, I was exemplified as a Fourth Degree Knight, and after the exemplification ceremony, Tom Hamberger asked me if I wanted to be in the Honor Guard. About 10 months later I purchased my uniform and then Mike MacFarlane gave me his sword. I enjoy the ceremonial aspects of the Honor Guard like escorting the Archbishop during a special Mass. However, I’m also prepared to put on my uniform when a Brother Knight has fallen.
On July 1st, 2022 I became Deputy Grand Knight for the 2022-2023 Fraternal Year. Which marked my third year of being an Officer. The Deputy Grand Knight is a precursor role to becoming Grand Knight. That brings us to today and I’m proud to say I, Brian Thomas Jeffers will be the new Grand Knight for Council 7923 for the 2023-2024 Fraternal Year.

I’m really excited to lead Council 7923. We have a lot of events on tap this year from monthly dinners and breakfasts to the Lenten Fish Fry’s. I know I will also face a lot of challenges this year because being Grand Knight is a big responsibility. However, I know I have a great team of Officers and Brother Knights that will support me all the way. Finally, I’m excited and proud to be Grand Knight of Council 7923 and I’m looking forward to embarking on this journey.
