Grand Knight's Report

Brother Knights,

November 2024 is now in the rearview mirror and here are some of the highlights. On Sunday, November 3rd, we had our Sunday breakfast and it benefitted the Bereavement Ministry. It was another successful breakfast and I would like to thank all the Brother Knights who came out to help. Next month’s breakfast will be on Sunday, December 1st, and it will benefit the Fransalian Associates Ministry. On Saturday, November 9th the Knights Memorial Mass at 9:00 am was held and the Honor Guard was present. This Mass was to honor and pay respect to the deceased Brother Knights in our Council.

The Spaghetti Dinner that was held on Saturday, November 9th to benefit the Life Teen Camp was very successful. We had arts & crafts and “Cake Walks” at the dinner too. All persons who participated at the dinner were overjoyed by the success of the dinner. I wasn’t there but I want to give a BIG thanks and kudos to the Knights and the Life Teen Group who were there to help make this event a big success. I hope we can collaborate more with them and other Ministries in the future.

On Monday, November 11th before the Council meeting the Knights and the SJN sponsored Scout Troop 522 held a flag retirement ceremony and we had hot dogs for dinner afterwards. This was the fifth meeting of the Fraternal Year and we voted on the tabled motion to set aside $1,500 to install a mini-split A/C unit in the Feaster Center garage/fieldhouse. This will ensure that the freezer and refrigerators units will work inside there and not overheat. The motion was un-tabled and the final vote ensued. The “ayes” had it and the motion was accepted.

Looking ahead, on Saturday, December 14th, The Knights will be hosting “Breakfast with Santa” and the proceeds will benefit the St. John Neumann Regional Catholic School. On Tuesday, December 10th we will have our last Council Meeting for 2024. Our recruitment efforts are ongoing and we are making progress. Our Council is fairly active and we always have volunteering opportunities if you want to get more involved. If you are a Knight that normally doesn’t come to our meetings then I encourage you to attend. First, come for dinner and a Rosary Service. Then feel free to offer a suggestion during the meeting or after on how we can help. We would love to hear your ideas and suggestions. Thank you and God Bless you All.

That concludes my report.

Vivat Iesu,

GK Brian Jeffers

Lecturer's Report

Today's Meditation

"Thus, brethren, God has loved you from eternity, and through pure love, he has selected you from among so many men whom he could have created in place of you; but he has left them in their nothingness, and has brought you into existence, and placed you in the world. For the love of you, he has made so many other beautiful creatures, that they might serve you, and that they might remind you of the love which he has borne to you, and of the gratitude which you owe to him." —St. Alphonsus Liguori, p. 218
