Grand Knight’s Report
Worthy Brother Knights,

The following is an adaptation of an article by Aaron Buer at Breezechme.com.

Reason 1. You Aren’t Asking

“ when you ask everyone, you ask no one”

Even though we may not ask you personally to help out, we use signup sheets, E mail sign up system managed by Ken Fehner, and calling post. For this to work we need your attendance at the meetings and your E mail/phone number. If you are not getting E mails and phone calls your information is out of date.

Please consider this my asking for your help in supporting our events.  Please come to our Oktoberfest dinner this Friday 10/11. Great food and good company.

Reason 2. Unclear next steps

We do pretty well with this. Ken’s E mail sign up system is detailed and allows you to choose how to help. If you cannot work the event, please support it by attending.
Reason 3: Volunteers Aren’t Recruiting

If you are one of the Knights that works most of the events, please reach out to fellow Knights that you have not seen in a while. Remember “ we have to ask”

Reason 4: It’s not a good Experience

When we are working as Knights we need to encourage our fellow Knights and make the work fun and engaging. People don’t want to work in negative environments. We need to welcome new faces, especially a new First Degree, and give them an important job. We know you know how to do it, we need new participants to know how.

As we send out communications, I will be sending calling posts out. If you don’t get a call and /or E mail, please call me 770 527 9983. We need to be able to reach you so we can work as a team.

We have a great meeting place at Neumann Center and we look forward to seeing you there.

Vivat Jesus,

Michael MacFarlane

  • A motion was made and accepted to approve the By-Laws based on the standard Template from Supreme. Advocate Larry Hoffman is converting the By-Laws from PDF to Word for signing by the Grand Knight, Advocate, and Recorder. When signed Larry will send a copy to the State Advocate.
  • The contractor is scheduled to start on the deck roof September 16, and take approximately four weeks to complete. Socials will be discussed after the roof is complete.
  • A motion was made and accepted to approve $500 for printing the new recruitment brochure when it is developed.
