Grand Knight's Report

Brother Knights,

October 2024 is now behind us and here are some of the highlights. On Sunday, October 13th we had our Sunday breakfast and it benefitted the Respect Life Ministry. It was another successful breakfast and I would like to thank the Life Teen Group for all of their help. They did a tremendous job. Next month’s breakfast will be on Sunday, November 3rd and it will benefit the Bereavement Ministry. During the weekend of October 12th-13th my promotional video for the Knights of Columbus was played at the end of all the Masses. The Spanish video I made was played on Sunday, October 27th. The videos I made were well received and hopefully we can attain more Knights in the future. Recruiting more Knights will take some time and luck and I don’t view this as a race. I view this as a marathon.

On Monday, October 14th, we held our membership meeting. BK Frank Swider bought some pizzas from Marco’s. This was the fourth meeting of the Fraternal Year and we voted on a motion to set aside $1,500 to install a mini-split A/C unit in the Feaster Center garage/fieldhouse. This will ensure that the freezer and refrigerators units will work inside there and not overheat. The motion was accepted and the final vote will take place at next month’s meeting on Monday, November 11th.

Looking ahead, on Saturday, November 9th, The Knights will be preparing a spaghetti dinner and all the proceeds will go to the 2025 Life Teen Camp. Then on Monday, November 11th before the Council meeting the Knights and the SJN sponsored Scout Troop 522 will hold a flag retirement ceremony. Hot dogs will be served after the ceremony. Then on Sunday, November 24th at 10:15 am BK Jose Sandoval Lermont will lead the “Latin Rosary” service. As mentioned earlier, our Council is always recruiting Knights in our Parish and we are finally making some progress. One signed up on the day my video was played and we have another transfer waiting in the wings. My goal is to show them that we are a great organization that serves the Parish community and a place to grow your faith. Thank you and may God Bless you All.

May God Bless you All!

That concludes my report.

Vivat Iesu,

GK Brian Jeffers

Lecturer's Report

Today's Meditation

All our perfection consists in being conformed, united and consecrated to Jesus Christ;

and therefore the most perfect of all devotions is, without any doubt, that which the most

perfectly conforms, unites and consecrates us to Jesus Christ. Now, Mary being the

most conformed of all creatures to Jesus Christ, it follows that, of all devotions, that

which most consecrates and conforms the soul to Our Lord is devotion to His holy

Mother, and that the more a soul is consecrated to Mary, the more it is consecrated to

Jesus." —St. Louis De Montfort, p. 65
