Grand Knight’s Report
Brother Knights,

The Fraternal year has sped by for me. Already we need to be thinking about who will lead the Council in the coming year. If you would like to participate as an officer of the Council now is the time to throw your hat in the ring. We especially need to have someone to sign on as Program Chairman. Generally, this role is played by the Deputy Grand Knight. It is a key role in the Council. Please give serious thought to becoming a Council officer.

I want to thank you all for your efforts in March and April. Fish Fry produced the budgeted profit to pay for Council expenses and charities not targeted by the Monthly Family Breakfast. April's Breakfast went well. However, we need a new Chairman as Brian Hanley has had to step down from the role. Thanks to Brian, a past Knight of the Year, for all his work on the Breakfast. Please consider pitching in as Chairman or find a buddy in the Council and become Co-Chairmen to lighten the work load. The staff is still on board and are well trained.
In April we announced that the Family of the Month was the Madore Clan for their work at The Breakfast. The Knight of the Month was Father Sunny who supports our Council as few other Pastors support the Knights of Columbus. Thanks Father!

Please try to attend the next Business Meeting on Monday May 8th. We will be discussing the Council's future in the coming year.

BK David Werve read an excerpt at the Membership Meeting:

You are part of a global Catholic fraternity which has changed the world. As members we strive to provide a strong and positive witness to the Catholic faith; to save the lives of the unborn, defend religious liberty and persecuted Christians, give food to families, provide winter coats to children in need, to support those with intellectual disabilities and to strengthen and protect our families.  

As Knights must lead with our faith. We need to strive to deepen our faith using the spiritual resources available to us which help us to become better Catholic men, husbands and fathers.

As Knights we accept the challenge to make an impact by serving others through our charitable actions. Examples include:
  • Provide wheelchairs for the disabled and handicapped
  • Support victims of natural disasters. 
  • Respond to needs in our communities. 

As Knights we have exclusive access to top quality insurance and retirement resources to protect our families.

As Knights we defend the Faith. Defend the truth. As a member we are joined with 2 million fellow Knights. Examples:
  • We stand up for the unborn and the dignity of all human life
  • We defend marriage and the family
  • We fight for religious liberty and our persecuted brothers and sisters in the Middle East
  • We join in the legacy of support for the Church.
