Grand Knight’s Report
Worthy Brother Knights:

Thank you for your consistent, dedicated work that led to a record Lenten fish fry program. Frank and Mike chaired a memorable event series that promoted camaraderie and solid teamwork. We all felt a strong bond and enjoyed the challenge!
The appreciation dinner BK's Frank and Mike hosted was absolutely perfect! The weather cooperated, the food was delicious, the music had us talking, the corn hole games were challenging and as you can see by the pictures, fun was had by all. Next year's Fish Fry Event Series will be challenging - to keep setting records. We are able to fund many charities with the proceeds and continue our work effectively. Also, please welcome our new Fish Fry Chairmans, PGK's Mike Clark and Steve Brischler.

I am excited to announce we have met our membership goal of 17 new Knights that have joined our council. We need 4 more Insurance members to get us to the Star Council status. The Annuity program counts as an insurance membership and is available for $100. Those of you that need to start saving for your retirement or adding to your retirement plan - Now is an excellent time to help you and your council. Please let myself, PGK Jim McHugh or BK Harry Holmes get you an application to apply.
Thank you all that were able to participate in our Knight's rosary and mass Sunday.
It is always rewarding to worship in numbers.

The family Breakfast is almost upon us - May 6th and then the following Sundays PGK Steve Brischler, our BBQ Chairman and team will be manning the tables after all masses to pre-sell BBQ dinners to go. Steve will have more details out to all of you and appreciate you stepping up to help.

We also will be receiving the Silver Rose from the Gainesville council and Father Sunny will be celebrating mass to honor the intentions of the Silver Rose at the 9 am mass on Tuesday, May 29th. I hope that many of you can attend and the Honor Guard has been summoned to be a part of the mass celebration.

Lastly, please attend the upcoming Business Meeting as the nominations of the New Fraternal year will be announced. If you are interested in volunteering for a council position, please see PGK Dominick Druda or any of the other trustees.

Vivat Jesus,

  • Breakfast. Profit: $970.

  • Scheduling to be handled by Knights via the Parish Calendar.
  • Paul will send existing building plans and we will work with Houston and others about building changes. If we stay under $50k, we can avoid planning/ permitting expense.
  • Initial planning would be 2 large rooms + larger kitchen, but that’s open to discussion
  • Due to budget, the parish will not be able to financially contribute.
  • Separate from Neumann Center, can Knights take ownership of Parish Festival in September? It was hoped Knights can increase the involvement with all parish groups and restart the craft show.
  • PGK Steve Brischler reported:
  • No formal dinner scheduled for May, so we’re going to do pulled pork, doctored baked beans, mac’n’cheese, and coleslaw. All to go, pre-sales.
  • Clipboard going around asking for help on 3 Sundays to take money for orders for pulled pork after mass.
  • Anyone interested in smoking pork with Steve?
  • New light by the front door. Feedback welcome.

Note from the Membership Director
Brother Knights,

We welcome three new 1st Degree Knights: Judson Baker, Lazaro Alveno, and David Andrews. David Andrews quickly advanced to 3rd Degree, Full Knighthood, Saturday the 28th. With his return, after a number of years absence, 1st Degree Knight Mark Lamparter completes our New Member Quota.
Thank you for the role each of you has played in 7923 reaching this milestone.

We also had five other Brother Knights advance to 3rd Degree, Full Knighthood on March 24:   Casey Eaton, Danny Eaton, Derek Smith, Raymond Espinosa, and Gary Smith.

Now that we have reached this plateau in pursuit of achieving the STAR Council for the first time in 5 years we must now meet our new Insurance Member Quota. We are making progress, but are still short of the goal. Recently I made an appeal to each member to access his Insurance Portfolio to determine if it is adequate to provide security to his loved ones. Hope you are doing this.

At this time there is a chance for you to enroll in the Knights of Columbus Annuity Program for $100, instead of $300. But this opportunity could end soon. If you are not a current Insurance Member, you may consider this option. Contact our Grand Knight Mark, with your insurance inquiries.

I want to thank each of you for all you do for the Council. We still have time to add to our membership. Please talk to friends who are not yet Knights. I will be providing Form 100s at the Officer and Business meetings.

God Bless you and your loved ones.
