Grand Knight's Report
Dear Brother Knights,

Here is the report for May 2024. May was another eventful month. Here are some of the highlights from May. On Sunday, May 5th we had our breakfast and it benefitted the Marriage and Family Life Ministry. I appreciate their help during the breakfast too. Then on Saturday, May 11th we prepared a Lasagna Dinner for the Catechists. We appreciate the Catechists teaching children and early teenagers the ways of the Catholic Church and the Bible. Therefore, we decided to donate the dinner to them and we were glad to do it for them.

On May 13th, we held our membership meeting. BK Joe Molyson bought some Publix fried chicken that we all enjoyed. During the May meeting we presented the Budget for the 2024-2025 Fraternal Year and nominated the Officer’s for the 2024-2025 Fraternal Year. The Budget and Officer elections will be voted on during the next membership meeting on June 10th, 2024.

On the weekend of May 16th to May 19th the Georgia KofC State Convention was held in Savannah, GA. No major developments happened during the convention but I will be happy to share with you the resolutions that were passed or tabled on a personal level. During the convention, the ASAP program (Aid Support After Pregnancy) was emphasized. This is a Pro-Life program to help financially struggling Moms after pregnancy and possibly prevent them from having an abortion. The Knights throughout the State were able to donate a significant amount to the ASAP program. Also, during the convention the Knights Mission Statement was emphasized. Here it is below.

“Together, we’re empowering Catholic men to live their faith at home, in their parish, at work and in their community.”
During the month of May, the Knights did a lot of good for the Parish Community. We donated a Lasagna Dinner to the Catechists, we donated money to the Life Teen Ministry to ensure that everyone who wanted to attend Life Teen Camp for one week could, and we are also planning on making a significant donation towards the purchase of a new refrigerator in the Reynolds Hall Kitchen. We also donated to the Eye Believe Foundation which is a local ministry that goes out in the streets to offer a meal to those that are less fortunate and some instances unhoused. Every month the Knights give their time to cook breakfast for a Ministry chosen by Father Sunny and the proceeds from the breakfast sales benefit that Ministry. The Knights of Columbus is a great organization and does great things. It’s very rewarding to be part of this organization. I would encourage more Knights to get more involved and be a part of this great organization. Any contribution big or small is greatly appreciated. One fellow Parishioner put it to me this way “even a little bit helps out exponentially.” I couldn’t have said that any better myself or agree with her more. May God Bless you All!

That concludes my report.

Vivat Iesu,

GK Brian Jeffers
