Council Appoints a Delta Lead Scientist for a Limited Term and

a Delta Independent Science Board Member


At its October 26, 2023, meeting, the Delta Stewardship Council unanimously voted to appoint Dr. Lisamarie Windham-Myers as Delta lead scientist for a limited term and Dr. Kenneth Rose to the Delta Independent Science Board.

The Delta lead scientist is responsible for providing vision, leadership, and unbiased science expertise to the Council, the Delta Science Program, and the Delta science community by upholding the highest possible standards of scientific integrity and credibility.


The Council, in partnership with the United States Geological Survey, is seeking a nationally recognized scientist to become the next Delta lead scientist in summer 2024. Learn more by reading the recruitment flyer.

The Delta ISB is a board of 10 prominent scientists from different disciplines with appropriate expertise to evaluate the broad range of scientific programs that support the adaptive management of the Delta.


Board members provide oversight of the scientific research, monitoring, and assessment programs that support adaptive management of the Delta through periodic reviews of each of those programs. The term of office for a Delta ISB member is five years and a member may serve two terms for a total of 10 years.
