Council District 7 Newsletter
April 01, 2018 - In This Issue:
Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Happy Easter! I hope you will enjoy a great weekend with family and friends celebrating Easter. Last Friday, my office hosted an Easter Egg hunt in collaboration with Los Lagos Golf Course. We had an incredible turnout with more than 500 participants enjoying an Easter egg hunt, activities and games. The Easter Bunny was on site to hold babies, give away eggs and other goodies for the children. I would like to thank staff over at Los Lagos Golf Course and the San Jose Police Department for making this an awesome event for the neighborhood.

I also hosted a Neighborhood Safety Immigration Townhall meeting at Saint Maria Goretti on March 21. We had representatives from the Office of Immigrant Affairs, the San Jose Police Department, the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office, the Mexican Consulate, and the Vietnamese American Roundtable to inform residents about their rights when encountering Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In addition, they addressed questions and concerns from the community, which helped to ease fears due to the recent ICE raids.

On Saturday, April 7, I will be hosting our first Dumpster Day event of the year. I am looking for volunteers to help with this beautification project. We will be meeting at Yerba Buena High School at 7am. Volunteers will help with registration, traffic, and unloading items. Community service hours and food will be provided. If you're interested in volunteering, please contact Natalie at (408) 535-4907 or via email Natalie.Le@sanjoseca.gov .

Once again, Have a safe and happy Easter weekend!

I f you have any questions, concerns or suggestions on how we can improve our community, feel free to contact me at  (408) 535-4907  or email me at  district7@sanjoseca.gov.

Sincerely,

Tam Nguyen
Councilmember, District 7
