Council Elects a New Chair and Vice Chair 


At its April 12, 2024, meeting, the Delta Stewardship Council unanimously elected Council Member Julie Lee as chair (left) and Council Member Gayle Miller as vice chair (right).


“Chair Lee and Vice Chair Miller bring impressive leadership and analytical skills to the Council,” said Executive Officer Jessica R. Pearson. “I look forward to continuing our work toward the coequal goals under their stewardship and would like to express deep gratitude to our former chair.”

About the Council


The Council works to advance California’s coequal goals for the Delta – a more reliable statewide water supply and a resilient Delta ecosystem – in a manner that protects and enhances the unique characteristics of the Delta as an evolving place where people live, work, and recreate.


It is composed of seven members. Of the seven, four are appointed by the Governor, one each by the Senate and Assembly, and the seventh is the chair of the Delta Protection Commission. Visit our Council members web page to learn more.
