And just a note to thank our dedicated volunteers, and all of the amazing donors in our community, for making our 2022 Summer Blood Drive on July 1st another HUGE success.
We broke all prior records by collecting 157 units of blood! That's all the more impressive considering the lingering effects of the COVID pandemic, and that the drive fell at the start of a long holiday weekend on a miserably hot day.
The Greater New York Blood Bank typically reports blood shortages at the start of the summer. In fact, this year they reported that we were in a full blown blood shortage emergency in our area. But once again, our members came through in a pinch (heh-heh)!
Sincere thanks to all the donors, and also to all the volunteers who help make this happen, especially our own brother Knight Denis Hanrahan, for whom organizing our semi-annual blood drives is a labor of love.
