Houston, TX -
Houston City Council Member Dave Martin, the General Service Department and Houston Parks and Recreation Department will host a follow-up Master Plan meeting for Sylvan Rodriguez Park on January 26, 2017, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., University of Houston - Clear Lake, Bayou Building, Garden Room, 2700 Bay Area Boulevard, Houston, TX 77058.
A long range master plan was developed for the park in 2008. As communities grow and change the need to revisit the plan and gain community input and support for park improvements is needed. The District E office has worked with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department to evaluate resident input following the September Master Plan Meeting, and to recreate three new master plan options that will be presented at this upcoming meeting.
The last major park improvement was dedicated in 2013 and included a 155 car concrete parking lot with parking lot lights, new electric service and new sports field lighting on the existing fields, construction of a new multi-purpose field west of the two existing lacrosse fields, paved sidewalk connections between the parking lot and fields, planting and irrigation and detention.
