• A constituent was receiving letters from the DOHMH saying that she owed the department a fee for not properly addressing a rodent problem in her property. However, the constituent did not own the property that was listed. After my office contacted the DOHMH, we found out that the letter was wrongly addressed to her unit instead of the managing agent of the co-op.

• A congregation was approved for a plumbing permit right before COVID-19 hit. Because of the pandemic, it was delayed for at least a year and they had to find a new plumber. The new plumber had to file with the DOB to supersede the previous plumber but never got his application processed. After speaking with both parties, we found out that the plumber submitted the application through the in-person dropbox of the DOB, but the department never received it. After connecting both parties, the plumber has now successfully applied to get the job moving!

If you are trying to get some work done but are awaiting approval or have some confusion in regards to permits that you need to file, we can connect you with the respective department and tell you about the next steps you need to take.

As part of the American Rescue Plan Act, the IRS began monthly distributions of up to $300 per child as part of the Child Tax Credit (CTC). Families can receive up to $3,600 per child (under the age of 6) or $3,000 per child (ages 6 to 17) as monthly payments in 2021 and the other half as part of tax refunds in 2022.

NY Division of Veteran Services is accepting applications for restoration of New York State benefits. Any individual with prior military service who was discharged under conditions that were other-than-honorable (OTH) or general under honorable conditions may apply for restoration of NYS veterans' benefits if the discharge resulted from the following:

• Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity
• Military Sexual Trauma (MST)
• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Pfizer vaccine will be available for New Yorkers 12 years and older. You will need to return to this site in 21 days for your second dose.

Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be available for New Yorkers 18 years and older.
