In the Canyon After Action Report, staff had recommended the purchase of four 4x4 diesel 3/4-ton trucks, with at least one set up as a mobile command unit, and three additional Type 6 brush patrol units. To date Anaheim Fire and Rescue has purchased two of the support pickups, and our action approved the purchase of the last two support pickups for a total of $80,000.
Staff also gave a status update on implementation of heat sensor detection technology to aide in early detection of fires and discussed their partnership with Public Utilities to install wildfire monitoring cameras in strategic locations.

I’m really proud of the work Anaheim has done to prepare for this fire season. Kudos to Anaheim Fire and Rescue, and thank you for your efforts.
