Passing of Brother Knight Mike McCarthy;
Meeting Notice & News Updates
We've been so busy with Oktoberfest! that in lieu of The Lake Current and our usual, separate death notice, for the sake of time we're sending you this brief news and reminders email.

  • Our next regular business meeting will be Monday, October 11, starting at 7:30 p.m. All members are welcome. We'll be meeting after paying our respects and performing our Knights' Wake Service for our recently departed brother Knight, Michael S. McCarthy. Please read the full notice below and join us at Cargain in Carmel by 6:15. After returning from the service we'll be serving Oktoberfest fare before the start of our business meeting.

  • Tickets to hold your reservation for our incredible 50th Anniversary Annual Dinner Dance and Awards Ceremony are now on sale. Please see the item below and make your reservations before October 16th.

  • There is also a link to purchase an ad in our special, large-format souvenir journal. Take out an ad to congratulate our honorees or to promote your business or organization. Please take your ad out by no later than Friday 10/15!

  • Oktoberfest Report: Our 2021 Oktoberfest! parish fundraiser was a fantastic success thanks to all of the hard (hard!) work of our volunteers and the wonderful support of our members and fellow parishioners at St. James the Apostle parish. Our Worthy Grand Knight will give the members a report on the event at our October business meeting, and we'll have pictures and coverage in our next edition of The Lake Current. But until then, thanks to all who participated!
Passing of Brother Knight Michael S. McCarthy

We are deeply saddened to report the passing of brother Knight Michael S. McCarthy on October 5th at the age of 75.

Mike was a Third Degree Member of our Order with over 51 years of continuous service, having joined in December 1969. His full obituary may be found by clicking here.

Visitation will be at Cargain Funeral Home (10 Fowler Ave. in Carmel) on Monday, October 11, from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m.

We will gather as a Council at the funeral home to perform our Knights' Wake Service at 6:15 p.m. All brother Knights are invited to participate.

A Mass of Christian Burial to honor and celebrate Mike's life will take place Tuesday, October 12, at 11:30 a.m., at St. James the Apostle in Carmel. Following Mass, he will be brought to his final resting place at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Michael S. McCarthy’s memory to the American Lung Association.

Please join with us in praying for the repose of Mike's immortal soul, and for the comfort of his family, friends, and loved ones, especially his beloved wife Florence.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
