Council authorized a Development Permit for 6953 Dickinson Road for the property to be subdivided to create 11 new residential lots, in accordance with the District of Lantzville’s Development Permit Guidelines, that include a geotechnical assessment. Other conditions address garages, invasive species, screening of heat pumps , and potential GHG Emissions reductions.

Council Strategic Priorities 2021-2023 includes securing a District-owned Public Works facility and the District Firehall site. Staff confirmed the current facilities are not effective options long-term (public works is a rental and the fire hall is on land required by Highways in the future).

Council authorized staff to proceed with issuing a request for expressions of interest to obtain submissions from firms interested in working with the District to begin the process for developing designs for new public works and fire rescue facilities as part of the future for the five-acre parcel donated (Clark/Medd) to the District for public use.

Council opted out of providing comments to the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch on the application by the owner of 7197 Lantzville Road, the Lantzville Pub, to change the hours of opening liquor service on Saturdays from 11:00 am to a 10:00 am opening. Opting out will allow the LCRB to process the application without local government comment.
