Legislative Matters
2022-2026 Five Year Financial Plan
The Director of Financial Services gave a PowerPoint presentation presentation outlining the 2022-2026 Five Year Financial Plan highlights.

Council passed two motions to amend the draft 2022-2026 Financial Plan:
  • in Tab 2, page 3, by increasing the Mayor's remuneration to $25,000 per year, and for staff to bring forward an amendment to the Council Remuneration Bylaw No. 170, 2018; and
  • in Tab 6, by contributing $5,000 annually starting in 2022 to a new reserve fund for expanding the community water system, and instructed staff to prepare a reserve fund bylaw.

Council also passed a motion that the 2022-2026 Financial Plan, based on information provided to Council at the October 13 and 27, 2021 budget meetings, be presented to the public at the November 24, 2021 6:00 pm special (Financial Plan) Council meeting and for consideration of first three readings of the bylaw.
The next scheduled Council meetings are:
  • 6:00 pm, Wednesday, November 3, 2021 - Regular
  • 6:00 pm, Wednesday, November 17, 2021 - Regular
  • 6:00 pm, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 - Special (Financial Plan)

Emergency measures and electronic meeting regulations continue to evolve in response to COVID-19. Until further notice, Council meetings are presided over in-person by the Mayor with Councillors participating electronically or in-person (per the Community Charter and the Council Procedure Bylaw). The public is encouraged to view the livestream of the open portion of the meeting online via the District's website. Members of the public attending in the Council Chamber must remain seated unless invited to address Council. Under current Provincial Health Orders, masks are required in indoor public settings for all people aged 12 and older, and proof of vaccination is not required for essential government activities and services, including Council meetings. Prior to attending, please self-assess to ensure you are health and do not attend if you are ill. Meetings recorded by the District of Lantzville may be viewed at lantzville.ca. The public is prohibited from recording Council meetings unless authorized by Council.
