On June 5, COA will welcome a group of recent college graduates into its first-ever New Grad Training Program. The program offers tracks in both Case Management and Business/Operations to those interested in working in the social service field. Both tracks will immerse participants in a well-rounded experience in their area of interest while they earn a salary. There are only a few spots remaining in this year’s class. Council on Aging CEO advocates for the needs of older adults
A national shortage of home health care workers is impacting Council on Aging’s ability to provide in-home care services to individuals enrolled in our programs. One of the biggest drivers of the workforce shortage is wages.
Council on Aging and other Ohio Area Agencies on Aging have been advocating for higher Medicaid reimbursement rates, which would allow for higher, more competitive wages for this critical workforce.

Visit COA on the 513Relief Bus in May
Beginning earlier this year, COA partnered with Hamilton County to include a specialist on the county’s 513Relief Bus for a portion of its 2023 stops. Our specialist screens older adults and caregivers for potential qualification in COA programs and services; connects them to aging- and disability-related community resources; and provides advice and direction related to aging, disability, caregiving or long-term care services. COA enrolling eligible older adults in Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program
Council on Aging is helping low-income older adults enroll in the free U.S. Department of Agriculture Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program. The program provides fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables through participating farmers markets. COA will hold enrollment events across its service area.
