Sunrise of Orange: A New Dawn
in Assisted Living Facilities
| |
Sage Senior Spotlight for June announces the successful completion of Sunrise of Orange, a state-of-the-art assisted living and memory care community, with a grand Ribbon Cutting Ceremony held on March 29th, 2023. This landmark project is a testament to the collaborative efforts of renowned professionals across various disciplines.
|
This community was envisioned as a modern yet homey assisted living facility, manifesting as the Sunrise of Orange. With HPI Architecture's creative direction and the efficient project execution by W.E. O’Neil Construction, the vision has now turned into a reality.
Key collaborators also included Fuscoe Engineering for civil engineering, Ridge Landscape Architects for landscape design, MHP for structural engineering, and Design West Engineering for MEP services.
This 93-unit, 74,500 square foot facility on a 1.55-acre site, stands as an emblem of contemporary design and mindful integration into the existing neighborhood.
| |
|
Sunrise of Orange nestles on the corner of Lincoln Ave and Oceanview Ave, a prime location at the cusp of the historic Olive Heights neighborhood – the second oldest community in Orange County.
The architectural design pays homage to the early California Craftsman style prevalent in Orange during the 1950s, ensuring the new facility respects the area's architectural heritage.
The building's strategic two-story structure adjoins the residential properties, carefully considering the scale of the neighboring single-family homes. Towards Lincoln Ave, the building stretches up to three stories, accommodating the commercial development scale.
The facility has addressed traffic concerns by maintaining the original project entry off Ocean View. This meticulous design consideration ensures minimal disruption to existing traffic patterns.

Facility Features and Amenities
|
As residents and visitors enter, they are welcomed by a double volume entry lobby right off the exterior auto court turnaround and drop-off area. The facility contains a subterranean parking garage with space for 62 vehicles, ensuring convenient

staff. Sunrise of Orange shines with its array of amenities designed to foster a comfortable and stimulating living environment for residents. Multiple dining rooms, living rooms, activity spaces, a theater room, gym, medical exam room, salon, and spa are amongst the indoor amenities. The memory care area provides an engaging and secure environment to meet residents’ needs.
|
The building embraces the outdoors with exterior courtyards featuring ample walking room and areas for sitting or dining amongst resident garden beds. A butterfly garden and bird houses add to the charm, creating tranquil spaces for residents to relax and connect with nature.
Additionally, exterior balcony spaces throughout the project offer stunning overviews of the neighboring Eisenhower Park and lake, adding to the aesthetic appeal of this landmark development.
Sunrise of Orange represents a new dawn in the realm of assisted living communities, seamlessly integrating lifestyle and healthcare needs with respect for its historical neighborhood surroundings. Sunrise of Orange is proud to contribute to enriching the lives of seniors with this state-of-the-art facility, designed with compassion and an unwavering commitment to quality of life.
