Welcome to another beautiful month of August and ENEWS. The Waterdown Dairy Queen is holding their annual Blizzard Day Fundraiser on Thursday August 8 - fun for the whole family! Thank you to Jayne Scala and the DQ team. There are two important public meetings coming up this August/September. A proposed expansion to the Waterdown Fortinos is being presented on Monday August 19th at the Waterdown Legion, 7-8pm. A new Live, Work, Play residential, healthcare and seniors housing development proposed for the Clappison Power Centre will also be presented on Monday September 23, 6-8pm at the Hamilton Technology Centre. We are also working on a date for a Police Community Update meeting and public secondary plan meeting, both for September/October.

here is a bin in the church parking lot where people can drop off anything made out of metal and unwanted electronics. Scrap metal collected includes bicycles, lawnmowers, large and small appliances, vacuums, toasters, kettles, pots and pans, tools, metal file cabinets – anything metal. 100+ Women Who Care Flamborough/Waterdown Program Meeting

Please join Councillor Partridge at the next meeting of the Flamborough-Waterdown Chapter of 100 Women Who Care program. The program intends to bring together 100 (or more) women in Flamborough-Waterdown who care about local community causes and who are committed to community service. At the meetings, women will meet for an hour and jointly select a local charity or not-for-profit organization. Everyone will each write a $100 cheque to the selected organization and watch how the group’s commitment turns into a $10,000+ donation. Do that four times a year and witness how $40,000 can improve the lives of our neighbours when placed in the hands of deserving grass-roots agencies working to serve the local community.
