Happy New Year! Welcome to 2020 and another beautiful month of January. There are many important updates to share with you this month, including an update on the Waterdown Bypass, my position on the cancellation of LRT, the Waterdown Memorial Park Public Art Project and more. Please join me at the first Winter Farmers' Market at Connon's Nurseries with local farmers and food makers ! The Market will be on Saturdays starting January 18 until March 21 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. See you there.

Winter Sleigh Rides at Mountsberg Conservation Area

When: Now on until Monday February 17, 2020

Don’t let winter keep you inside! At Mountsberg Conservation Area, you are invited on a horse-drawn ride through a winter wonderland. Arrive at a roaring bonfire rosy-cheeked and ready for a tasty marshmallow roast- a perfect way to get outside and enjoy winter with friends and family! Make a day of it by picking up a hot chocolate in the gift shop and then visiting with the park’s resident birds of prey and farm animals, followed by a trip to the play barn. A day spent outside in the crisp winter air and everyone will head home ready for a long winter’s nap. Available weekends and holidays until February 17th, 2020. 100+ Women Who Care Flamborough-Waterdown Meeting

Please join Councillor Partridge at the next meeting of the Flamborough-Waterdown Chapter of 100 Women Who Care program. This program brings together 100 (or more) women in Flamborough-Waterdown who care about local community causes and who are committed to community service. At the meetings, women meet for an hour and jointly select a local charity or not-for-profit organization. Everyone each writes a $100 cheque to the selected organization and watch how the group’s commitment turns into a $10,000+ donation. Do that four times a year and witness how $40,000 can improve the lives of our neighbours. For more information, please click here

Winter Farmers' Market

What’s better than shopping local and supporting local farmers and small businesses? Being able to do so in the cold months of winter! Connon Nurseries has announced a Winter Farmers' Market to be held in their beautiful, warm Atrium in Waterdown with some amazing local farmers and food makers. The Winter Farmer’s Market will take place on Saturdays beginning January 18 and running through to March 21. Hours will be 10am until 2pm, and we’re still accepting applications from vendors. Fundraiser for Australia's Injured Animals

Don Zver Pottery is hosting a fundraiser for the Animals of Australia on February 8th to help our furry friends. They are producing 400 pottery bowls at $20.00 each (Cash Only) and donating all the money to the NSW Wildlife Information and Rescue Service (WIRES). It is the largest rescue group in Australia. "Messy" Dinner and Family Fun Night

Family Day ABC Pancake Breakfast and Skate

Set Sail Gala in support of Interval House

Everyone is invited to set sail for an exclusive evening with great friends and fabulous entertainment in support of Interval House of Hamilton. On February 21, we will celebrate the courage of all women who have reached out for support services and show gratitude to our community for standing up for freedom from abuse/violence against women. Waterdown Coldest Night of the Year

Join many community walkers in support of Eagle's Nest and be a part of a story that restores hope in our community. Together we will walk to raise funds for HOPE Centre- Home of Practical Education. The Centre is a safe place in our community that provides practical support to families and individuals who have experienced trauma, loss, or are facing difficult life circumstances. Through accessible services and support programs, individuals discover their true identity and become equipped with tools for a healthier future. Carlisle Optimists Annual All-You-Can-Eat Community Breakfast

When: Sunday March 1, 2020

Time: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Where: Carlisle Arena, 1496 Centre Road, Carlisle

Everyone is invited to come out to the Carlisle Optimist Club's Annual Community Breakfast to support youth programs in Flamborough. $12.00 for Adults and $6.00 for kids under 10. Wheel chair accessible at the Carlisle Arena.

Annual Waterdown Comedy Fest

Waterdown Lions are holding their Annual Waterdown Comedy Fest on Saturday March 28 at Waterdown Memorial Hall. There will be 2 shows and 3 wacky comedians. The Early Show 7:00pm to 8:30pm Doors open at 6:30pm, Late Show 9:00pm to 10:30pm Doors open at 8:30pm. Tickets are $20. Note this is a licensed event Minors must be accompanied by an Adult.
