Please join me for RED Friday this Friday June 7, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Waterdown Legion- FREE event to say thank you to our Veterans, Military and First Responders. A fter personally attending many times, Knox Presbyterian will host its last community breakfast on Saturday June 15th. 25 years, 115 volunteers and more than 125,000 breakfasts raising over $350,000 - a truly successful and staple community event that will be missed.

Summer Roller Skating at Bayfront Park

Bring friends and family to Hamilton’s Waterfront Outdoor Rink for HWT Summer Roller Skating with DJ on Wednesdays (7-10pm) and Fridays & Saturdays (7-11pm) - weather permitting. Skate Rentals are $9.00 and include a helmet and safety equipment. To learn more, please click here .

Cipher-Decipher Exhibition at Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum

When: Open Daily

Time: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Where: Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, 9280 Airport Rd, Mount Hope, ON

This exciting interactive 3D exhibition, Cipher-Decipher, will be on display at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope from now until September 29, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm daily. This exhibition is for all ages to enjoy, and explores the past and present of communications cryptology - what it is, how it works and how it affects our lives. See an authentic Enigma cipher machine or try your hand at logic puzzles and games to see if you have what it takes to work in the field of cryptology! A puzzle module allows visitors to see if they possess the skills necessary for working in the field of cryptology. Please click here to learn more.

Weekly BBQ Fundraiser at Turkstra Lumber

Join the community for a weekly summer BBQ fundraiser at Turkstra Lumber in Waterdown for $5 ! For the past five years, Turkstra has sponsored a weekly summer barbecue for Flamborough Connects, which supports programs, events and activities for residents in need - from youth to seniors. This year, Turkstra is spreading the wealth and we are delighted to welcome Eagle's Nest Association of Waterdown to the picnic table. Combining efforts to raise funds for multiple community programs that directly support community success is a great way to engage more participation and increase funding. 2nd Annual RED Friday Celebration

Please join Councillor Partridge on Friday June 7 for a special RED ("Remember Everyone Deployed") Friday event to celebrate and acknowledge our local First Responders, Military and Veterans. Let's come together as a community to honour and thank them for everything they have done and continue to do for us. Relay For Life Hamilton 2019

Waterdown Farmers' Market

The Waterdown Farmers' Market is back on Saturday mornings from 8am-1pm in the Waterdown Legion Parking lot. Enjoy a wide variety of farm vendors representing a mix of organic and conventional practices, as well as delicious on-site prepared food and beverage vendors, live music, kids’ activities and free parking. A morning at the Market is sure to be a great experience for all the senses! Knox Presbyterian Church LAST Saturday Breakfast

When: Saturday June 8 and Saturday June 15, 2019

Time: 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Where: Knox Presbyterian Church, 80 Mill Street North, Waterdown

Knox Presbyterian Church is hosting a freshly cooked breakfast on Saturday June 8 and Saturday June 15, in support of those attending the World Scout Jamboree in July 2019. A variety of breakfast options are available from $4 - $8.

Please note that after 25 years, 115 volunteers and MORE than 125,000 breakfasts raising over $350,000, June 15th will be the last breakfast. Thank you for your generous support over the years!

Flamborough Food Bank Open House

Everyone is welcome to attend the inaugural Open House at the Flamborough Food Bank. We are excited to open our doors to the community to learn more about the services and operations of the food bank. There will be activities for the entire family! 100th Annual Hamilton Decoration Day Memorial Service

When: Sunday June 9 , 2019

Time: 11:00 am

Where: Hamilton Cemetery, 777 York Boulevard, Hamilton

The Hamilton Veterans Committee invites the public to attend the 100 th  Annual Hamilton Decoration Day Memorial Service at 11 am on Sunday June 9 at Hamilton Cemetery. In memory of those who paid the ultimate price and as a sign of respect for their sacrifice and the hope that it was not in vain, all veterans' graves in Hamilton Cemetery will be decorated by local cadet groups. This is the only Decoration Day Service to be held this year. Youth and families are encouraged to attend.

The tradition of Decoration Day has been maintained in Hamilton thanks to the efforts of the Hamilton Veterans Committee, loc al branches of the Royal Canadian Legion and local veterans’ organizations. For more information, please click here .

Carlisle Optimists Annual Duck Dash and Family Fun Day

When: Saturday June 15, 2019

Time: 10:30 am - 2:00 pm; Duck Dash - 11:00 am

Where: Courtcliffe Park, 159 Carlisle Rd, Carlisle

Bring the family and join Councillor Partridge for the annual Carlisle Optimists Duck Dash and Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Courtcliffe Park. Free barbecue with live fish aquarium, fly tying crafts, fish painting, live raptors and more children’s activities.Take a wagon ride to the rubber duck dash race down Bronte Creek, which starts at 11 a.m. sharp. Arrive early to catch the wagon ride and avoid disappointment.

Grace Anglican Church Open House and Carnival

100+ Women Who Care Flamborough/Waterdown Program Meeting

When: Wednesday June 19, 2019

Time: 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

When: Grace Anglican Church Hall, 157 Mill Street North, Waterdown
 
Please join Councillor Partridge at the next meeting of the Flamborough-Waterdown Chapter of 100 Women Who Care program. The program intends to bring together 100 (or more) women in Flamborough-Waterdown who care about local community causes and who are committed to community service. At the meetings, women will meet for an hour and jointly select a local charity or not-for-profit organization. Everyone will each write a $100 cheque to the selected organization and watch how the group’s commitment turns into a $10,000+ donation. Do that four times a year and witness how $40,000 can improve the lives of our neighbours when placed in the hands of deserving grass-roots agencies working to serve the local community. Hamilton Port Tours on the Harbour Queen

This summer, Hamilton Port Authority will be offering free community tours of the Port of Hamilton aboard the Harbour Queen. Come discover the Port of Hamilton aboard the historical Hamilton Harbour Queen that has been navigating the water since 1956. Participants will learn about Hamilton's diverse Port and the many fascinating activities that take place on Hamilton's working waterfront through this unique perspective. Flamborough Paint Challenge

When: Wednesday June 26, 2019

Time: 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm

When: Joe Sams Leisure Park, 752 Centre Road, Waterdown

The Flamborough Paint Challenge is a youth planned and executed event taking place on Wednesday, June 26th from 3-8pm. It features a 5km obstacle course, where participants are covered in bursts of powdered paint, local entertainment, mini games and a Harvey's BBQ. All proceeds raised support youth mental health and well-being initiatives in and around the Flamborough area. For more information and to register, please click here.

3rd Annual Waterdown Garden Walk

When: ​Saturday June 29 and Sunday June 30, 2019

Time: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Where: Neighbourhoods in Waterdown - to be announced

Canada Day at Wesfield Heritage Village

When: ​Monday ​July 1, 2019

Time: 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Where: Westfield Heritage Village, 1049 Kirkwall Rd, Rockton

Visit Westfield’s historic buildings, gardens and forests or take a hike on the trails. This is a great opportunity for new Canadians to experience the history of Canada. Visit the many historical buildings with volunteers in period clothing and enjoy a hike on the trails. The General Store and the Gift Shop have sweet treats and unique gifts. Blooms for Africa Waterdown Garden Tour

When: ​Friday July 12 and Saturday July 13, 2019

Time: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Where: To be announced

The Blooms for Africa Wandering Waterdown Garden tour is hosted by a group of dedicated women drawn together through shared love of flowers and gardens to support Grandmothers in Africa who are caring for orphaned grandchildren. Rotary Food4Kids Brunch Fundraiser

Where: Branch 551 Waterdown Royal Canadian Legion, 79 Hamilton St N, Waterdown

Come and enjoy a tasty brunch, prepared by community members and the volunteers of the Rotary Club of Waterdown in support of Food4Kids Hamilton-Halton and other Rotary projects on Saturday July 13, Saturday August 10, Saturday September 14 and Saturday October 12 inside the Legion. It is running in conjunction with the Waterdown Farmers' Market so come and have your breakfast to support this worthwhile event - cost is by donation. Save the Date - Waterdown Legion Annual Corn Roast & BBQ

Join the community for the Waterdown Legion's Annual Corn Roast and BBQ with entertainment provided by Mike Hubley - KountryFryd Music. There will be Hamburgers, Sausages, Hot Dogs, Popcorn, fresh corn and displays to enjoy - come out for a fun afternoon, bring your friends and kids and your chairs! This event is in support of your local Legion. Mike Hubley will be playing a unique blend of country music old and new with a side of rock ‘n roll oldies! Call for Volunteers - Flamborough Chili Fest 2019

The annual Flamborough Chili Fest is back! Volunteers are needed for this popular fundraising event organized by Flamborough Women's Resource Centre, a community program of Interval House of Hamilton.
